Hemi performance do the conversation engine mounts but you’ve gotta use the v8 k frame lots of guys make there own mounts and center the big block to get it away from the booster I have the hemi performance mount but have not yet tried
They do make mounts , i always had a factory v8 k frame but i know people use custom mounts. Its based on an body in the usa . They had big blocks even 426 hemis. Mate had a Vk charger with a 440 years ago but he sold it because it was too wild for him. Im sure it had factory exhaust manifolds.

Ahh thanks Peter! I've tracked some mounts down through hemi performance, but there have been on back order for over 4 weeks now sadly... I'm questioning if they even stock them now haha, hopefully they get sent soon so I can get this boat anchor installed in the CM haha
Hi mate, loving your latest production values, to say nothing of the beautiful machinery and what you are doing with it. (Still have a soft spot for the XP, but these are all the cars of my teenage years.)

Hi Brett, hey thanks heaps mate, tons of effort goes into my videos lately and I'm glad you noticed it's picked up! 🤙 Yeah I love my old fords top, but I think it's the Era of cars in this period that I enjoy the most, plus I'm excited to work with a v8 again 😄 🫡, cheers Loges

ooh very similar Damo! its actually a Celica Lift back, series 2. it was 1 of the 3 cars i saved from the scrappers from that property! pretty cool hey!
I reckon you can get the mounts from Castlemaine rod shop...and the yoke for 727!is 4speed manual ..not sure about tail shaft length but charger is the shortest

wait wait wait.. so you are saying i can get a slip on Yolk from castlemaine rod shop? what's 4 speed manual? I'm confused sorry but i feel there is good info here haha, can you clarify at all ?😬

@@TwistedMetalCustoms the engine and trans mounts should be available for Castlemaine.... The yoke for a 4 speed manual and a 727 are the same they are bigger than the standard yokes ..then you just have to find the tail shaft to fit Possibly you would have have one cut and shut Now I assume the trans being a 727 it would bolt up to a standard trans mount as the 360 cars ran these Al the time I hope this helps ...I'm currently building a vj 265 turbo Mopar or no car

@cecilbdemille8079 I see... I will ring up castlemaine tomorrow and ask, the 727 that I have has that bolt on uni joint, from the motor home it was in, (I'd rather go a manual box, but is too dear) but your saying the internal spline is the same as a 4 sp box? I might be dumb or something but I'm not following haha, I've never pulled apart a 727. Awesome man, a turbo 265!! That will be sick! Do you run a youtube?

@@TwistedMetalCustoms no you tube channel at the moment.. The slipper yoke for a 4 speed hemi 6 cylinder is the yoke you need Providing this is the same 727 used in the vh to cm series ..the vh to cm tailshafts are all the same diameter. But they vary in length .. There are 2 sized yokes...727 or torque flight pretty sure that's it Just make sure the 727 is the same as an Aussie 727. And the extension housing is the same you might have to find an Aussie extension housing to make the trans fit ..!

@@TwistedMetalCustoms I only got some old school pics from a time long ago lol what I did with mine was cut out were steering box section has rusted and replaced it with good box section and new crush sleeves then put the hemi performance sleeves on after removing a few brackets and prepping up for welding then drowned it in epoxy primer inside and out with lots of rust proofing there not bad to do once you have X member out but do make sure rails are square first before any welds as for engine mounts Il find out for you

absolutely agree, on both parts haha
I think the biggest problem, if I remember correctly, is that you have a 6-cylinder k-frame. That was 25 years ago, so a little hazy. But you need custom mounts for them. Well, I did. The other thing is headers; they don't fit when putting a 440 in cm, vh, or vk. You can buy undercarriage or cut the fender wells to fit, but it's not an easy straight fit. Other things I would say are to strengthen the frame rails; they crack and twist with a 245 hemi, let alone that thing. But you can do it with a lot more work than you first think. Watch out for the need for a 727 tranny off a big block. The bell housing is not the same. Maybe someone who's done it not 25 years ago with a better memory can help. Damn, red backs are something I don't miss from Australia, lol.
@TwistedMetalCustoms
Жыл бұрын
ahh yes, would i have to strengthen the 6 cyl K frame? or just find a v8 one you think? i have got "Huggers" extractors that apparently fit between the strut towers hopefully, maybe move the brake booster over a touch... i definetly will strengthen the frame rails then haha, don't want to write it off! the 727 i have, came with the motor from the motorhome, it has a uni joint though at the yolk, not a spline... going to have a few hurdles ut i think it will be worth the effort! thanks Ian 👌 Loges.
Something about redbacks. I've noticed they like to concentrate their nests near EVAP canisters and fuel lines. I wonder if they like the smell lol

ah ok ok, ill look into it again, trying to find someone that can supply it cheap enough to keep the prices down is the hardest, what does a normal Flanno go for roughly? i looked at one supplier when you told me last time, it was over $50 supplied, so even if i put 5 dollars on its too dear in my opinion 🤔

@@TwistedMetalCustoms $50 for a flanno? ... Yeah, naa. Get a cheapie and find a print shop for your logo. I'm thinking $16-20, + $8 for printing then the $5 on top for cream. Just my two cents m8
@TwistedMetalCustoms

@@graeme02 sounds perfect if i could find them for under 60 bucks, cheapest "flanno" i can find is from Lowes, for 30 bucks, and its just a thin cotton type, and thats not even customizable.. ill be 100% happy to make something happen if i can find them cheap enough to sell cheap to you all, but i dont want to put out cheap crap merch either, im having another look tonight for something. (im all ears for suggested sites if you have any) i cant even find a quality T shirt for less than $20 (plus $10 for logo and designs) the merch gig is tough to be honest.
