For those wondering, he says "Pretty" while looking through the photo album. He's been sitting in a single location coming to terms that reinforcements aren't coming, and getting heavily shelled, he's looking for something normal to keep his brain ok. Happens to a lot of people in heavy combat, I heard stories of vets from Fallujah doing the same.

The way he looked at the album and right after he puts it down a shell blows apart a wall of the house reminds me of many famous war movies where these kinda scenes occur

At 3:25 the soldier actually says he killed a defender. Strange you missed that. "Hohol, Hohols are coming" "Hes dead, hes dead, hes dead" "Stop shooting, stop shooting"

At this point many of these soldiers have a good amount of combat experience. Russia will have a very experienced military by the end of this war.

@@line9947 Uh no not really believe it or not most of them survive engagements, I’d wager just with combat experience alone they would fair better against US infantry which doesn’t have many combat experienced NCOs let alone something as intense as Ukraine war.

When I went to Bosnia I found photo negatives in a destroyed home and had them developed. They were black and whites. I still have them, it's hard to describe but they are haunting echoes of the past. I showed them to a couple of locals, 1 or 2 people they recognized.

@AH Most of the time I was in the southern sector, our base was in Olovo but we traveled all over. I was in the first group to go after the peace accords so emotions were pretty raw, especially when we rolled into Mladic's town. I did drive thru Mostar on my way to a 3 day pass in Budapest, phew, that place was wrecked. I pray the country heals

I simple could not imagine how these soilders (on both sides) do what they do. This amazing yet tragic at the same time. May God peace and stop the wars happening accross the world. Amen

The main thing I thought here was - these guys are good lads fighting their asses off for their mates, trying to win a battle - or at least not get killed. The fact that politicians exist disgusts me to be honest.
