Prior to that he made a nuclear threat to Denmark in 2015, threatening to target Danish ships with nuclear missiles. Neither NATO or a NATO member have made a tacit or direct threat to Russia, and there s no way you can claim otherwise. So what? Haha this is a very good answer to the nonsensical question from the interviewer. Lavrov is someone with very good language skills, whether you like him or not. Although he speaks with a quite heavy accent, he is very articulate and defends his position very well.

Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is very smart person. Russia is today protector of Christianity and peace in the world. I say all my respect to him as a Polish American.

Well actually not, many of young russians is kinda half-belivers, they maybe doesn't goes to church, but may belive in some "abstract God". But still i guess it's can't be named as a "Faith".

This has been called a full interview by NBC but there were a lot of skips made in the editing. Why?

Ten US bases in Syria - for a moment there I thought I was hearing things but Mr. Lavrov repeated it. When did this happen and by whose permission and cooperation?

The NBC guy acts like he started his first job after university...completely lost and unsecure. After the first idiotic question I would stand up and go. It is a shame that a Russian politician is forced to speak the language of oppressors and imperialists.

NBC : we want a kindergarten interview, tabloid style. Sergei : OK. The best bit is when Lavrov in all seriousness talks about how he trusts the american media and how he can only go by what he sees on tv. Priceless :)

Sergey is very skilled and professional. Top shelf diplomat.

No big power in the world today is innocent regarding breaching of human rights, but Russian political leaders like Lavrov and Putin are talking and acting in a much more calm, intelligent, logical and cooperative way than top US political leaders.

I think people need to learn that when a dialogue has been unheard, unresolved there is a point you say enough. That is what Russia did, after years of been unheard, ignored and lied too they took action. What did you expect them to do? Ukraine, NATO and the US all knew. It is documented.

Once again, Lavrov is the only adult in the room. Pathetic interviewer. But to be fair he's only asking inane questions which his bosses know an average American can comprehend and want to hear the 'answers' to. It's a pathetic nation which only wants to hear answers to unsourced innuendo which is irrelevant, and reality-TV style "What did you think when....?" questions. Lavrov gets points for tolerating this toddler, and the few million toddlers watching who think this interviewer is 'hard hitting' and asking 'tough questions'.

Lavrov implied that the interviewer belongs in a kindergarten (spot on).

I see a very nervous journalist, trying to put words in the mouth of and extracting soundbites from one of the worlds most accomplished diplomats. Good luck with that. [edit] 38 minutes of the most cringy fishing for gossip. Exactly the suffocating sanctions he opposes here, are the sanctions Russia has to deal with now.

If you keep your remote work for your western employer, it will be easy for you to spend half a year in Moscow. But in general I wouldn't recommend moving to Russia. Salaries are low, economy is struggling because of sanctions.

This Russian foreign minister is very smart and precise with his responsees. Also, this gentleman speaks good English. This American journalist asked a lot of stupid questions too.

It’s embarrassing to be an American during this conversation.

It is so refreshing and important to be able to hear Lavrov speak about important issues without being constantly interrupted or intentionally diverted as is often done by American media. Lavrov is clearly quite capable, professional, articulate, honest and forthright in his statements. The more he talks the more obvious is the depth of US propaganda. His respect for national constitutions and International Law stands in clear contrast to US foreign policy.

Interesting, all admiration for an apparatchik of a Government intent on getting back toTHE GOOD OL DAYS . These guys are not playing around and have been subverting America's trust in her institutions with the active participation of the President. As more years pass, I am left wondering how much longer of this nonsense will media spin? Big respect to Mr Lavrov.

That first question about looking happy or unhappy in photos... is pure stupidity. This interview was a total waste of his (and our) time.
