KG: It's not the first time: every interview I have watched of Assad is always conducted with the utmost dignity (including respect towards the interviewer) *regardless* of their sneering, hostile attitude (not always) towards him. Compare this with the Goons in Westminster. Johnson the Clown, wears the crown.

But yeah.....Obama has such trouble with the English language even if reading a prompter he can't build a sentence without UH every other word and after more than one UH in a row....take his prompter away and you might as well just put up a sign that says "Please stand by....Technical issues....Speech will resume shortly when replacement teleprompters are set up and running again" and Hillary is similar although at least she can come up with some lengthy fabrication she has been practicing and perfecting from the moment she was 2 years old....Bill was a good speaker, even GWB did better than Obama or Hillary....Its sad that so many people whose Speaking in English is their 3rd language is better than either Hillary or Obama. Michelle's not much better either....Assad seems like a more educated person than any of the Obamas and Hillary for sure....

Now, in your mind: does "defending" the country foreigners mean indiscriminate attacks on cities and towns with all sort of weaponries available? 3. I never claimed to be "mr know it all". Gioe o pistoleiro He was not the only candidate. If you only read the Wester right winged media, that's what you'll find. There were three candidates, and many agencies were watching the elections. Naturally, the Syrians did not accept the US agencies like US Endowment for Democracy, or USAID, which everybody know that are part of the CIA and will anyway manipulate the news for the interest of the US transnationals and the US hegemony. He WON so overwhelmingly because the Syrian people united in front of the common enemy: the mercenaries payed by the US to overthrow the Syrian sovereignty. But from your US point of view, I wonder if you will understand that.

assad went into his presidency with actions towards more modernized society. he opened public political discussion, began to disassemble the economic hold the elite had over key markets ... he lived in Europe working as a doctor, and has a great respect for Western societies. of course this war has halted his governments work, but the statement of the 99 and the statement of the 1000 are publications by the people of syria, that were only possible due to bashar slowly opening debate on the state of the nation. obviously there is a lot of work to do, but I do believe that bashar al asad has the intellect, will and government to fulfill at least partially, what reforms the people want.

The Syrian people have a right to their life, their land, their liberty AND their president if they want him. Like President Assad said, no one asked the United States for help, and we have no business interfering there on ANY level until we are asked or directly affected. We have plenty of problems with our corrupt politicians here and we should be focused on that, instead of assisting a certain "untouchable" nation every time they call our name. Even though I disagree with some of her domestic policy, I will say that Tulsi Gabbard actually has a whole section on her campaign website that debunks the fallacious claims made about Assad and the war... There are still good people here.

Interesting, as I listened to this, Brian (the reporter), sounded like a child or a naive person compared to Assad. Assad, sounded not only sounded reasonable but also, a man of principle which is rare these days, at least rare in America especially as it pertains to adult men. The reporter spends more energy trying to bait Assad in questioning or impose guilty feelings at an attempt to rattle Assad or emotionally control him. This reporter would use any slip up to justify any action we may take in opposition to Assad. Brian and the network he's representing has no genuine interest to learn from Assad's side or comprehend the bigger picture as it relates to terrorism or global stability. It is quite clear that the interest is to defeat Assad ideologically. Assad is quite patient.

+Ka_Pe_De well this is the big question. Does US foreign policy really just go from country to country car crash to car crash with no real purpose seeing as none of these countries really pose any threat to the US. Is it about resources? If so, is that not for your benefit as well?

USA isn't arming rebels because assad is a dictator in the same sense as USA never went into Iraq or Afghanistan because they had WMD's, that's just what they tell the public to get support. They probably want to remove assad because of geopolitical reasons and because he isn't loyal to the us, and because of the Russian base in Syria. They don't pose a threat to the USA but they do to Israel, who is USA's ally.

GamerGurl, No way So I am very confused, I wanted to educate myself about the war in Syria and in all youtube videos about the reason and conflict itself it was always that he sent the troops during the Spring Protests killing some people and that later he was dropping very dangerous chemicals even at children. I really have no idea what is going in Syria. I was just eager to learn about it...

@@jakubzajac5383 It's a lie. ISIS and rebels did that. Don't believe KZread videos, they're censored by juice (if you know what I mean) Bashar never hit civilans on purpose, any time he did is because ISIS is hiding inside civilian homes.

It always helps when Eastern leaders speak in English. It does not allow Western media to subtitle or worse to translate. It allows them to seem more human and less like the characters they are protrayed like in the corrupt media.

It's amazing that a professional interviewer can ask generally the same question 15 times over, get a response, and still not understand the answer, prompting him to ask again with different wording a 16th time.
