Make no mistake, he's a calculated, highly intelligent man. Regardless of the type of person you believe him to be. I will always support a nation who wants its sovereignty and independence but I won't pretend to understand fully, the entirety of what's going on. I feel for all the innocent people involved on both sides. You have to understand that to the Russian government the way it stands today, having NATO essentially surrounding Russia on all sides is a very big security concern and issue and a legit one. You can't deny that regardless of your opinions or sides chosen if not abstaining from the entire event. That is an irrefutable fact. Let's just establish this. The rest can be debated.

  • @markriley5784

There are four side (or fronts), eastern, western, northern, and southern. NATO is only on one side, the Eastern, and they don't even entirely cover that side. Now let's discuss the difference between nations that have free elections and those that are controlled by a dictatorship. And let's discuss the difference between a defensive alliance where the nations join of their own free will vs an offensive alliance where nations are forced to join by a dictatorial regime. I'd love to engage this dialectic with you on Zoom.

You know China or America wouldn't do that either (and there are already many NATO states on their border btw) Why would NATO explicitly decline Russia's request to join while accepting almost everybody else? Everyone keeps saying NATO is defensive like they haven't invaded and completely ruined multiple countries the last 20 years. No remremand from international law.

@@markriley5784 I mean if military expansion is a problem as you say you're pointing your finger the wrong way. So you recognize America wouldn't have Russia or China's weapons on their border, so you fully understand why Russia don't want the same. They could have reacted a long time ago with already 4 NATO states on their border. They tried again to negotiate in December. Extremely simple solution to save the people of Ukraine. America have got Ukraine smashed at best from wilful ignorance, more likely for tactical reasons it's that simple. You can find ample evidence over the last 15 years of Russia saying don't send weapons to Ukraine or put them in NATO (after it had already been agreed). America has never budged. Ukraine is the most strategically useless place to America....unless you want oil and to sell weapons. That's it. The rest of Europe don't want them in NATO

I would say it's time to try to patch things up. It's the largest country in the world and if you look into modern Russians today, there is a lot we do have in common. Putin may be powerful and perhaps more powerful than necessary for a President, but I think he generally wants to elevate Russia's people and status. I do think Russia needs to stop whatever it is doing with Ukraine and if that happens, leaders wouldn't have any excuses to hate Putin anymore.

Unfortunately, he showed his lack of depth to interview on such topics and lack of desire for truth. It was more important to ask all his questions but not to listen or care about the answer. Chris, unnecessarily was rushed by time as if a clock was always before him and he had to fit into a time slot and could not to parts 1, 2, and more... Putin on the other hand acted as if he could have been there for 2 hours. Wow, I wonder what we would have learned if Putin would have not been stopped and real follow up questions were asked. Putin was calm and collected whereas CW looked like an anxious kid that was afraid he would get attacked by his rivals at CNN if he didn’t come off as aggressive against Putin. Let’s be honest: Russia is hated in the US because we can’t control them and because they refuse to get with the program of modern hyper-progressivism. In this climate, it’s easier to bring baseless accusations to smear public opinion against Russia who may or may not be guilty. Provide actual evidence, not rhetoric. Putin is right when he says that this is all accusation and no substance. I’m not stupid enough to believe that Russia is blameless but we’re definitely in no position to cast stones. Talk about meddling in elections, for example... that’s been one of the CIA’s specialties for years and Maidan was just the latest example. I respect Putin and I (begrudgingly) support Trump despite his manifest moral failings. A direct meeting with Putin was a wise next step and I’m glad it occurred. The real question is whether or not Trump has the power or freedom to make real peace with Russia while he’s simultaneously in a war with the Deep State.

It's amusing when he's asked "why do so many of your political rivals end up dead?" he just replies with, "don't you guys have crime in the US? look at all the people who die in the US" LOL. Alex Kwamina I’m Canadian firstly so I don’t have this kind of animosity towards Russia. They are a western country with a deeply interesting culture. The pinnacle of art, science, music. Secondly, Putin seems very rational, intelligent with a sincere love for his country.

Chris Wallace is just plain rude. If a Russian reporter had behaved like this with President Trump, he would have walked out of the interview

We(America) have such a double standard. We condemn Russia for doing the exact same things that we do. I hate American journalists, always interrupting. If you watch other Putin interviews with Russian journalists, they NEVER interrupt!

Teringventje you should refer to what the person, TheIron Smith, commented before you. It's turned out to be the American way. You corroborate such a claim. Smh

Jenny Smith You're not that intelligent. He made a great point while Wallace continued to promulgate the agenda he's PAID to support. A totally fictitious narrative. Putin is above this. What an awesome statesman. And Christian. Our media lies to us on an hourly basis. Hollywood crushes our morality with their own agenda. All paid for by the same oligarchs that get their marching orders from the banksters. If you don't know this, and based on your comment you don't already, then you need to keep quiet and learn some things FIRST before you opine on anything more. Your comment is rubbish.
