actually i have scientologist friends... this is what they're essentially trained to say. If you ask them about their beliefs, they won't explain much, they'll give very vague general responses, and then say if you want to know more about it, read the books. They don't want a discussion - because a discussion will lead to facts refuting their beliefs.

Mark ONeill Yes ! They do ! This " Church " is insane n has been forbidden in Germany . Tom Cruise is not a victim because he s rich .. other people have had their lifestyle ruined . It's heavy psychology pressure n has got to do with acting methods .. that's where it originated California LA Ron Something being a failed actor or distributor opened up classes with role exchange ect .. it's unhealthy as fuck n target people who r lost ... Russell Crowe is stupid ( on that day in this interview ).

He would have got his 2nd Oscar if Denzel hadn’t taken such a departure from his normal roles in “Training Day”. Russell won the Golden Globe and the SAG that year. @@1matdad362i really liked that movie too, it’s one of my favorites, the cinematography really stood out to me, it was just beautiful, gorgeous area in France, and such…well, I don’t really know that much about film terminology, but it was very warm bright colored lighting, atmosphere, that really set the positive mood of the film…it really stuck out when they would switch to the London scenes, which were all gloomy lighting, and sterile looking…so the contrast between two were quite dramatic. Made me want to go to the south of France, and fall in love with a beautiful French girl. Lol. That French actress was great in it too. Loved the outdoor theater science, just such a great lighthearted movie, feel good movie…..but it got horrible reviews strangely enough. Critics hated it, and I think it was a bust at theaters. Well, clearly as an actor he is NOT going to step into an arena where the COS will come for him should he say anything negative about TC even if it is the truth. He knows very well not to attempt career suicide by speaking negative which the COS calls evil if anything negative is stated about their flagship leader TC! The fact that TC is no longer associating with Russell since his divorce from Kidman speaks volumes as to how he felt about Russell! If TC genuinely was interested in maintaining a friendship with Russell he would not have allowed the divorce to stop that from happening.......HOWEVER, there is something about the COS called "SP" Suppressive Person so I imagine that is the reason TC no longer allowed Russell into his orbit!!!

"Scientology is a body of religious beliefs and practices invented in May 1952 by American author L. Ron Hubbard (1911-86). Hubbard initially developed a program of ideas called Dianetics, which was distributed through the Dianetics Foundation. The foundation soon entered bankruptcy, and Hubbard lost the rights to his seminal publication Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health in 1952. He then recharacterized the subject as a religion and renamed it Scientology, retaining the terminology, doctrines, the E-meter, and the practice of auditing. Within a year, he regained the rights to Dianetics and retained both subjects under the umbrella of the Church of Scientology." - according to Wikipedia So THAT is how it became a "religion". Seems like a monetary loophole, a company restructuring or just a way of moving things around within the legal system until Hubbard could reacquire his assets/work. Once it was labeled as a Religion, then that's where we get the weirdness taking off. I don't trust new, religions/cults - they just don't measure up to the scrutiny and this "Scientology" is no different. I still say that it's a CULT.

@@magicalmystery1964 Could be because Russell seems more rough around the edges and Nicole is classy and ladylike. But then, when she did marry again, Keith Urban seemed a bit rough around the edges too (he's actually very nice!).

You just repeated what Russell said?
I grew up with my dad being a BIG Scientologist and NEVER EVER was I influenced in ANY WAY whatsoever by Scientology!! Not join, not to follow nothing! Nina
My parents did exactly the same .. and I’ve done the same with my children.. it’s up to the individual to find what faith.. if any .. they want to follow.. I thank my parents for that too! 😊
One of my favorite actors. He is out of this world 💖
Lol fkn love Russell Crowe. He's such a chill dude.
Thank you for sharing. I pray our God continues to move you to share.
Anything Russell Crowe does is golden. Love him.
Tom Cruise obviously recognised that Russell is his own man and acted accordingly, good story imo,and for those saying Cruise would only look for a weak person, well he's the most down to earth actor you could ever see,he makes more time for his fans than all the rest put together, and that's a fact.
Love Russell, so authentic
Gladiator was my favorite of his work.
I use to drive a Yellow cab in New York city 10 years ago and I drove Paul Giametti and his son and a week later I drove Russell who was by himself. That job paid like utter sh*t but it was celebrity central. I drove David Bowie once, I didn't realize who he was until we got to his stop and I recognized him, Bruce Willis who wouldn't shake my hand, Mike Tyson, Michael Stipe, David Blaine, Kareem Abdul Jabar who had to sit sideways in the back, Drew Barrymore, Laren Hutton, Michael Anthony Hall who asked me a million questions about taxi driving but the best was Tom Clancy who couldnt believe I recognized him. He had his shades off but I recognized him anyway, that job was unreal

I'm so jealous!
I like Russell Crowe, and I would hate him become part, of that cult freak group. Good for you Mate!
Russell seems to be in a good place now in his life. When he was younger, he established a reputation of being a hot head, now he looks mellow. Maybe he was carbs deficient back then!

I think becoming a dad might have had a bit to do with becoming more mellow.
A wonderful actor and beautiful human being!
Love this!
Yeah, Tom KNEW better than to bring that crap up or try to push it on someone like Russell Crowe.
And I like Russell Crowe and his work even more now
A smart man, who thought about things and questioned them.
Russel Crowe Rocks! like has been already said...Keeping it real...what you see is what you get...no pretense no ego no BS no kissing butts...just the real deal...Real down to earth & grounded...Real Aussie Russell Crowe...Good on you Aussie mate.
of course Tom didn't force the issue look at Russel he could wipe the floor with Tom LOL

tom is short but he can fight and he's well trained, russel is his age but fat and doesn't train a lot anymore, that would be a mismatch. i'd even take cruise over guys like cavill and cooper.

Baptism of babies is nonsensical. Becoming a Christian is something only a reasoning person can do... Well done Mum!
Russell Crowe is a stand-up guy for not getting into a mud slinging match on this topic. Credit as well to TC for not pushing it on him

Correct. Both are class acts. I notice how many jealous petty people are piping in and know nothing. The interviewer knows nothing but gossip. Crowe has personal knowledge so is to be believed.
Read 'Fair Game' by Steve Cannane - it exposes Scientology for the money making scam that it is.

Gosh , I admire Russell Crowe' s talent . I think A BEAUTIFUL MIND is perhaps my favourite movie and I really enjoy all his movies . I find him refreshingly down to earth in all the interviews I've viewed . He's just an all around good guy . Thank you for this podcast
Did the same with my kids Russell. Your parents are spot on.
I love Russel Crowe! A straight shooter, gotta admire that!😉
I remember Russell walked out on Ellen in that hoodie 😍😍
Brilliant!
Scientology should pay taxes and better yet close down.
I love how the interviews are trying to egg Russel on and get him to make a negative comment but he remains a gentleman and tells the unbiased truth. Good man. Those other two are just trying to stir up drama

That Sweaty Mom they’re Americans, but even worse, Americans with a “show”.
I find the mentality of his mother to be or to have been ahead of her time. Like not baptising him so he could decide over his faith later on. Interesting
“On my signal, unleash hell.”
Wonderful actor. Love you, Mr. Crowe.
i wish Russell would do more movies I loved the bad ass about him 😁
He wiggles his ears when he's talking... but I like him anyway. God bless Russell's heart.
Russell Crowe, favourite actor when Gladiator came out, favourite actor now. Nothing changes.
“Who gets Russell?” 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂😭😭
