Huge credit to Jonathan Ross for asking the questions we wanted to ask and yet keeping the show light and moving. What he’s doing here is a tightrope walk and he’s damn good at it. He was hugely criticized for earning large sums but here we are, decades later, still consuming this content. He really was great at that job.

The person who is giving birth is not obligated to be silent. Silent refers to not having a lot of people screaming and shouting during the birth. The mother is to be supported and helped in whatever ways she decides she needs and she wants. ​@arribaficationwineho32

Their auditing ( interrogations on a "low voltage lie detector) not only uses children to audit but has them asking adults age inappropriate sexual questions. There is also plenty of child slave labor, false imprisonment ,lack of an education and exposure to pedo. phile s because SCIENTOLOGY does in house justice and doesn't ever report crimes to cops unless it is about someone against Scientology. Leah Remini and Mike Rinder both said John Travolta is actually a nice and sweet man. They didn't say the same about Tom Cruise. Tom Cruise is much more involved in Scientology and best friends with David Miscavige, the psychopath leader of the cult. They said they are like soulmates, evil twins. Travolta just seems totally brainwashed by the cult and doesn't want to hear anything negative about it, which is sad.

I met John many years ago at the Scientology complex in Fl. We were hanging out at the coffee bar, smoking cigars, and having a coffee. What a nice guy. Since then I left Scientology. I hope that he does the same.

Others become more primal and noisy, but as John was saying it's not the noise, it's the words/intention. I've been with very frightened women who have screamed and cursed their babies into the world- it's complex. Maybe if their own lives were less difficult they might have had a different experience.

Less chaos the better mom and baby can focus on getting the birth completed with the most calm possible. Seems most women also now try to go without the pain intervention if they can. My cousin decided that unless the pain was greater than her menstrual cramps, she was not going to have any pain meds. She did both her kids that way successfully. Hats off to the moms, midwives, and all around who keep it peaceful as possible.

his experience is so different because of his status. they collect dirt on everyone in "auditing" sessions where they have to confess everything to use as blackmail if someone tries to leave. then they try to ruin your life in so many ways which includes stalking, sabotaging things like jobs, harassment. even heard about a man who escaped but they actually ran him off the road

I'm always amazed at how bursting with life & energy British talk shows are. They make US & Canadian shows seem like everyone's sedated. It's relaxed & interesting & it also sparks a creative edge in guests. They come off far more interesting. Travolta's career in dancing & acting now strikes me as very accomplished. And also what comes through is the humor, the witty repartee. This was the first time I've seen scientology represented with some dignity. Great interview! Loved the spontaneous dancing close.

Funny how I’ve never heard about Scientologists lending a helping hand during natural disasters, like Travolta says. 5 months later: I didn’t know I’d start a tiny war. I have nothing against JT and if he’s flown these missions of mercy, I’m sorry for questioning it. I thought it’d be big news we’d have all heard about it. I may have judged him because of my aversion to Scientology and I regret thinking of him only in that light (or dark maybe). He’s apparently a good generous soul despite his religious choices, Scientology, which I do not consider a religion, but a cult. Needless to say, I never wanted to cast aspersions on him in particular, only on Scientology.

He also doesn't know what he's talking about when he says birth is painfull for the baby. The fetal brain is awash in a cocktail of around 8 naturally occurring chemicals that keep the fetus sedated and anaesthetized during the birth process. Without these chemicals. the birth would be excruciating. During birth, the uterine muscles squeeze the fetal head so hard that the unfused skull bones sublate (one is pushed down underneath the other) so as to make the head small enough to fit through the canal. You can see hundreds (if not thousands) of videos on KZread of homebirths showing that the newborn is completely silent during this process. It is sedated. Traditionally, midwives and doctors would slap the newborn in order to make it start breathing.

I like that British journalists and television hosts ask questions that Americans wouldn't dare. It's very sad that his son and wife have passed. That being said I wish he would go on Graham Norton's show and just spill the tea (if you know what I mean)

Yes, as a Brit we love asking outrageous questions. What would have been funny was Mrs Merton (a much missed british female comedienne) asking impertinent personal questions😅😅😅😅😅

John Travolta is very cool, when he started the Saturday Night Fever dance, it transported me back to that film, and wanted to watch it all over again.

Gee whiz! Thanks for permission to scream during labor. 😂

My sister was an extra for Face Off. Apparently he was the nicest and most approachable person on set. She said the other celebrities seemed to have protective bubbles around them to keep meremortals from speaking to them (which I do understand for practical reasons) but not him. He spoke to her (briefly but still) and posed for a picture with her. She’s got it framed by her bed to this day 😊.

A very measured man Mr Travolta. Never loses control on what he says because he can just switch to a character in his head. Some little no verbal at times, but seems like a decent guy... whoever he is.

John seems like a genuinely well intended good hearted person. Similar to someone in the police force or pharmaceutical rep soon enough you realize, “geez this isn’t what I thought I was signing up for, well, now that I’m in it I’ll just roll with it”

Nice guy or not, he's still a tit. He's not the egotist with delusions of grandeur that Tom Cruise is but anyone who would wilfully join Scientology needs to have their head examined. Especially considering the pain and misery it's brought upon people. Particularly families that it's ripped apart. Travolta gets zero respect from me, not that I necessarily think that my opinion matters more or less than anyone else, but nevertheless.

If scientology has helped him deal with Jonathon Ross with such aplomb and charisma then I’m almost ready to sign up.

My husband built his house in Ocala and his hanger is off his bedroom.

Whether in a movie, or an interview, or quietly eating a doughnut, JT delivers his lines well.

He is a very underrated actor. He dominates the screen in any film he is in. He was in a Super Bowl Commercial with some other guys. He dominated that, and the commercial was entertaining.

This man has had so much traumatic loss in his life. There’s always such a sadness behind his eyes.

Jonathan Ross is real star here . Intelligent , quick-witted and funny

2007, Way before he lost his wife Kelly Preston and his best friend Kirstie Alley. His son Jett passed in 2009. Hes been through so much since this interview its heartbreaking. You can see how much happier he is here.

Every woman going through birth goes through a lot sometimes going through the entire process and losing the baby. I wish a man, who can NEVER imagine what it's like, would tell me not t make a sound during childbirth, I would shove a bowling ball down the entrance of their pp. Happy...lol...I bet he's happy all right.

What a sweet man he is. He looked uninterested in the beginning of the interview I'd say, when he was asked about his planes and houses, but started to engage later on and overall this was a pretty enjoyable interview

He is so relaxed and calm and chill. Very humble yet confident. I remember Kelly Preston being the same, they were a celestial match.

I think like most Americans - he was totally put off by the cheeky disco vibe of the talk show, and likely completely annoyed by the host's badgering of personal questions and silly attempts at humor. Why try to act funny when you're obviously not? Why not just relax and act like you would if a guest came to your home? I think Travolta would be much more comfortable if this guy was just more real instead of acting like a puppet robot for the corporate financed audience.

I can't even imagine being a member of that cult.

I'd like to see Travolta, or any man, go through a child birth of any kind, let alone a silent one! How can they possibly know that a child through the birthing process understands words. Sounds like utter nonsense, but for the cult folks, I guess it makes sense to them. How can someone like Travolta, who seems so reasonable and humble, be so involved in a cult? If there's any saving grace, at least he's not 'in your face' about it like Cruise is.

If they gave that much concern to their followers, they wouldn't be harassed and disconnected from their families if they make the choice to leave (a choice they should be perfectly free to make with no consequence). Scientology is the antithesis of tolerance.

There’s a lot of good things in the teaching of Scientology, like the Path to Happiness film. Some of it helps people educate themselves about different topics and become better people. Not a lot of idolatry or mindless prayer but the money scheme is immoral. They are hugely rich in real estate and the IRS should force them to divest, but that would apply to Catholics too. I don’t agree that they should be allowed a religious tax exemption because they don’t help anyone for free. They should not treat their ex-members like crap and force people to “disconnect “ from nonbelievers, that is hateful. Their beliefs about aliens is no worse than traditional religious beliefs but still nuts.

Yes, he is very gracious and if you listened to him, John said Scientology helps him to help people. He didn't say no ONCE & NO negativity---like your comment about his adult choice about his religion. I bet people think your religion is ludicrous...some people do. Why so judgy???
