Reading from an old Swedish magic book that gives instructions on how to do the Årsgång. Speaking about the origins of the Swedish folk magic practice Årsgång. Alot of people say that any magic we find in Scandinavia after the year 1,000 is christian. Which is all garbage. Alot of pagan magic and traditions were outlawed. So they had to adapt. Utiseta was a pagan ritual where you would sit still at night on a burial mound and be visited by spirits and the dead to gain power and wisdom. Sitting outside at night actually became illegal when Christianity arrived. So the pagans just had to adapt and this ritual turned into the famous Swedish folk magic practice Årsgång.

I'd love to do it, but you won't find burial mounds around my area, unfortunately. Unless, perhaps I could go to the tree in a small nearby park to visit my mom's ashes resting place.

Interesting. Do you know who or what the Huldufolk are? They feature in the Asgard’s Wrath virtual reality game that I mentioned under another one of your videos, and they are little nome like people that look kind of like the little dancing people in one of these illustrations. Are they from Norse sources, or some sort of folklore recorded later but thought to date back to pre-Christian times, or something like that? Thanks!
Im here bc I was very surprised you put Årsgång on the calendar, since as a swede I know that as a christian magic ritual, and that you put Årsgång there but not Lucia? Lucia is pagan but adopted by christianity and really that info is very censored and not on wikipedia, but you did put Lussekatter on it😂???? Id remove årsgång and add lucia personally
