Hi Steve. I can only say that after three years of regular use, I still smile every time I set off on Buddy. Find the right sort of road, one with bends and one you can enjoy at 40-50 mph and the joy of motorcycling just washes over you. Those Meteors have some kind of secret ingredient to their construction I'm sure. Been in Almeria for two days getting Norman's big service done. Yesterday I took their Himalayan 450 for a quick first impressions ride. I will be referring my viewers to your video for a full review because I couldn't be arsed doing one myself and you really did cover the bike in great detail ! My takeaway from the test ride. Lovely but the vibes do worry me greatly ! Take care mate. We're running late with ER-Mageddon III The ERmageddoning. I will try to get my stuff sorted and then will get in touch with you to work out a suitable date. It has been too long and people want to hear more about novelty clothing shops, strip clubs and cheese. Who knows ? We might even get around to talking about bikes for a bit ? 😂 Love to you and the Exmouth crew, Garry & Ruby ❤

Hi Garry, Great to see Basil & Chili in your other Bods Dogs segment. I tried to get Chili down from the bedroom to watch this, but being a stubborn Spaniel, she of course refused! As for me, getting out on the BSA more now, but had a heart-stopping moment today when the Engine Immobiliser light came on and she wouldn't start. Then she ran out of Fuel just as I arrived at a Petrol Station. Phew! After bit of a break myself, I'll have a new vid out at the end of the week. Cheers!😁

Hi Andy, was happy to feature them. Thanks for the photos and the information ! Out of interest, if you throw a ball, does Chili bring it back to you or does she just sod off with it and hide, like Ruby does ? 😂 Sounds like the BSA is not immune to electrical gremlins then. Hopefully that's not going to be a regular occurrence. Maybe check out some forum or other, you probably aren't the first BSA owner to have that problem. Maybe there is an easy preventative measure or permanent fix ? Fingers crossed that the problem doesn't spoil your enjoyment of the bike because it is a beauty. Take care Andy and give Chili a big hug from the two of us, Garry & Ruby

Hi Peter, to be honest, I do enjoy working on my bikes OUTSIDE. Only downside is that I need a spell of decent weather before I can do anything. If I sell the Mercedes, it frees up a garage and I intend to reshuffle things and have the bikes in the garage attached to the house. That garage is bigger than the one they are in at the moment and also it is where I have all of my tools, cleaning stuff and lubricants. So it would make sense to rejig things. If the Mercedes finds a new home, them I would change garages and would then probably, over time, start to make the bike garage into more of a workshop. Either that or I'll buy more bikes because I will then have more space to store them - yes, that seems probably more likely ! 👹😇 Take care Peter, Garry & Ruby

Ruby did a wonderful job on cutting that all together, also did the AI voice over extremely well. thanks for the mention and the entertainment along with showing all the other dogs that follow Ruby. i was having a horrible time with allergies this winter and spring, but looks to have simmered down over the last couple weeks. funny, our wild life dont use the road to poop, thats weird..... never thought about that..... or we just have so many cars on the road, i have never seen it. but i do have a rabbit that lives under my shed that poops almost every night on my neighbors drive way for the last 3 years, almost every day i can walk out there and see a pile of rabbits pellets. lol

  • @economicalrides

    @economicalrides

    2 ай бұрын

Hi Blakester ! Yes it's true, Ruby did find a very good AI version of my voice for her segment. She has been working on it for a while. It was one of her side projects which became her main project once she realised that it was going to be too difficult cloning sossidges. She was making some progress with the sossidge cloning but the success rate was disappointing. Sometimes she'd end up with a banana, other times a pickle and the odd time she did end up with a sossidge, it tasted of pickled bananas, so wasn't really nice to eat anyway. So yes, at that point she decided to focus her full attention on developing the AI Daddy simulating voiceover for her video segments. The goat poop everywhere is a common thing here. The farmers drive the goats from their pen to some field or other, often using the road to get there. So that poop is the result of 100s of goats getting a taste of freedom, the excitement of which causes them to void their bowels and bladders all over the road they are walking down. I quite often end up stuck behind a herd of goats being taken for a walk down the road. The smell makes my eyes water, I can tell you ! Obviously the livestock driving only happens here because there is so little traffic on the roads. You probably have something similar over there, in more rural areas. That rabbit that lives under your house and only goes out to poop on your neighbour's driveway has all the makings of a great cartoon 😂 I can just envision your neighbour camping out at night with his shotgun poised, waiting for that pesky rabbit to come over ! Been a bit too busy to get much pipe time lately, May is looking like a very busy month so far. Hopefully I will find some opportunities for some me time now and then. Cheers Blakester and give Zevee and Ollie a hug whenever you see them ! Garry & Ruby

@@economicalrides I get zevee for 7 days starting Saturday. I also get all her plants.... and she has a lot. I offered to keep them at her house and I would come over and water. But she moves them on days that are sunny.... what a waste of time. As for the animal travel on road here...... not sure if it would be legal. Maybe out in the west, but I still think they would be put on a trailer and dropped where they should be. Getting out west the land is vast and farmers own 1000s of aches and then fenced with electrical wires. As for Ruby working on cloning, banana flavored pickle!? Very interesting. If you could have her work on something I came up with 25 years ago, a tomato that is a tomato, but spicy hot like a pepper. My first brother inlaw had a garden and planted hot peppers and tomatoes every other plant and I took a slice of tomato and it had a nice heat to it. Put that slice on a sandwich! Yes please! Now on to the 🐰 rabbit, I met him last night while I went out to smoke a cigar on the beach. I could totally see that as a cartoon in the papers. The house owner falling asleep each night waiting for him to come out. Drinking to much waiting for him to come out setting up Acme products to catch him. Classic go and find time for yourself. Enjoy life. I think that is what this injury has taught me. It might be over in a week, or 25 years. But that's all we got, is then the sand runs out, it's all over. So find time at least for you and enjoy Ruby, as we all have alloted amount of sand

@@BlakesPipes Hi Blakester. Yes, hot spicy tomatoes would be a potential Nobel prize winning invention. I think this idea has legs. Maybe I should get Ruby onto it ! 😂 Actually, after a stressful few days I am taking a day off today. I am using it to catch up on a load of chores and will be doing the big grocery shop later. It has been a successful day so far. Trying to clear my chores list for the weekend so that I can go out on a bike without feeling guilty about it. After the big shop is done, a pipe and a beer on the patio is definitely intended. Glad to hear about Zevee coming to stay. He can watch Ruby's new video on Tuesday and push up my viewer count 😂👍🏻 Moving plants around to catch the sun sounds like a right faff. I like my plants to man up and just deal with the conditions as they are where they stand. If there is one thing I've learned in 54 years lived, it's that you can't go around spoiling your plants. Tough love is the only way ! Cheers Blake. Enjoy your day and I promise to try to find some me time later today 👍🏻 Love from Spain Garry & Ruby

Hi John, well, if by fixed, you mean, disposed of, then yes 🙂 Half of the fence was destroyed and hanging on by a single strip of wood. The other half was getting quite weathered anyway. So rather than trying to fix the part the wind practically destroyed, I decided to take the whole thing down. I will not be replacing it right away. I have decided to wait and see what the weather does in the next few winters because if they are anything like the last one, any new fence is likely to get destroyed in the first winter, so no point in having it ! Glad to hear that the UK is starting to get some dry days. You have surely had more than enough rain for one year, although you are probably still all expecting to hear of a hosepipe ban in the summer 😂 Take care John. Hi Paul, thank you, I appreciate you saying so 🙂 It's good to be back. My life was too quiet when I had no comments to reply to ! The J Series 350 is such a wonderful engine. So smooth and where the power is, it just feels like it's a much bigger engine than it actually is. It's fantastic to have a small, smooth engine with a decent amount of torque. Who needs anything bigger to just go out and enjoy riding a motorcycle. I know, I am preaching to the converted here Paul 😂 Yes, I was interested in a rev counter for a while ( for reasons of science ) but in riding I don't think I'd ever refer to it. I always shift by ear anyway and with the J Series you always know that the power is going to be down low, it's not like you need the rev counter to keep it in the power band. Although I rarely use the Tripper because the app can be a pain at times, I'd still like to keep it, just in case some day I manage to go on a long trip into unknown territory. It could be useful then 🙂 Cheers Paul, Garry & Ruby

Hi Ken ! Actually Ruby did the narration as well. After realising that cloning sossidges was too difficult, she decided to focus her attention on developing an AI that sounded like her Dad that she could use to narrate her texts for "her" videos. I have to admit that the results are impressive, quite convincing, much better than her cloned sossidges, they were awful. I imagine that the trees you are referring to are almond and olive trees. Both types of tree tend to get planted in very precise rows, presumably to make it easier to get a tractor or other machinery to turn over the earth at regular intervals, just by driving up and down between the rows of trees. It does always look very neat and tidy. You rarely see a field of trees here where the trees aren't all nicely lined up like that. The speed limit on those roads goes up and down like a fiddler's elbow. If there is even one house or one driveway, it may drop to 20 or 30 kph, in other places it may be 50 kph or 70 kph. If it is a straight stretch you may get a "national", so 90 kph. But it varies a lot and the signage is sparse and inconsistent. You never really know how fast you can go, but then it doesn't really matter because you are most unlikely to encounter a speed trap. I tend to ride at 70-90kph, only slowing down whenever I am passing houses or in a 30 zone etc. Cheers Ken, glad you enjoyed the video. Ruby really did put in a lot of effort to get it done. Give the girls each a big hug from me. As you can see, they already have their fans ! Aussie Biker Dude also loves them ! Cheers you lot, Garry & Ruby

@economicalrides Great reply Gary (or was it Ruby?) I can't tell anymore! 😳😁 With Ruby's talents she'll be getting a bike licence soon! Now that would be a sight to see, A spaniel going sossige shopping on a hayabusa.... Stand clear!! 🤣🤣 👍

@@kenbrooks7794 Haha good point ! No, that actually was me this time 😝 Ruby on a Hayabusa would be awesome but she'd have to let me have a go on it too ! Ruby does genuinely love motorbikes. She gets so excited when we go to get one down from the garage together or indeed take one back. In an ideal world I would have a sidecar outfit and she would absolutely love coming out on rides with me. RE really need to build a factory outfit. It's a niche market but there is a market. The outfits currently available are all too expensive. The Meteor would be enough to lug a chair about in a leisurely manner and it would be great for Ruby. So come on RE, build us weirdos an economy factory sidecar outfit !!! Cheers Ken, take care, love to the pups ! Garry & Ruby ❤🐕

Hey Garry, nice to see buddy again! Quick question, since I saw you fitted the flyscreen. Does it do anything regarding wind protection and buffeting or is it purely aesthetic? Many thanks in advance! Cheers!

Hi GreekDude, yes. I removed the fly screen initially because I HEARD IN MY AUDIO that it added turbulence. It definitely did. But now I have refitted it because I prefer how it looks 🙂 In my view, it does nothing to protect against wind but does successfully add ( moderate amounts ) of turbulence. However it looks cool and the turbulence added is minimal. So all things considered, I decided that it has earned its place back on Buddy. I hope this helps 🙂 Garry

Hi Garry & Ruby, I posted a similar comment to this one, but it was gone when I checked again two days later. Did you work out how to remove the service spanner from Buddy's display ? If not, it's very simple. First the engine does not need to be running to do it. Turn on the ignition, press the 'info' button' on the clutch lever side down for 10 seconds and then switch off the ignition switch. When you switch it on again, the spanner should be gone. The YT video channel you wanted is called "Nicks Episodes", and he has done a full service video on your little Buddy. Fred

Hi Fred. I suspect that your comment contained a link to the video. KZread deletes all comments with links, just to be on the safe side. It wasn't I who deleted it, I can assure you ! Thanks Fred. Actually I was just being silly. I have a video on how to reset it on my channel, 😂 I was just mucking about. But thanks anyway 👍🏻 I still haven't done it yet but hopefully next time I go out on Buddy I'll remember to do it before setting off. Cheers Fred, have a great weekend ! Garry

I got my "Little Buddy" over the weekend and am excited to learn how to ride the manual instead of the automatic. Does anyone know if i can put the headlight cowl on the Meteor 350 to help give it an even more retro look?

Congratulations Janett, now the fun can start ! Yes, you can get a headlight peak ( I think that's what you are referring to ) for the Meteor. Hitchcocks Motorcycles in the UK have them for all bikes fitted with a 7" headlight, including the Meteor. The peak is embossed with "Royal Enfield". If you go onto Hitchcocks website you will find all sorts of bits and bobs for your Meteor. If you are ok buying stuff from India, always do an eBay search too. There is so much stuff out there but apart from the panniers I have kept Buddy totally stock so far. He was already a beautiful little bike from the factory ❤ Delighted for you Janett. Enjoy your Meteor and good luck mastering a manual gearbox 👍🏻 Garry & Ruby
