Rover V8 3.5 FULL ENGINE REBUILD. Range rover restoration. PART 6 .

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Hello everyone. This video is the PART 6 of the “The hunt for horsepower”. We end up doing a complete engine rebuild on my 1984 Classic range rover V8 3.5 liter. Initially the plan was to just take the timing chain cover off and repair the broken part following the disaster in PART 5, but upon inspection of a big end bearing we realize that the engine is quite worn out and … well .... we rebuild it in the bloomin garden and get it done in 3 days.

So encouraging seeing your commitment to that vintage. Sometimes it looks like you're the only sane person seeing value/Hope where others see waste. 😂

Hello Kennedy. Thank you so much 🙂 . Yeah you gotta save what you can. Too easy to chuck it away and get a new one. All the best

I'm buying a new engine now for my classic and it has 250k miles in it. Keep at it. Do it right every step of the way and it will be way more reliable than people say. If you pay attantion and you're willing to tinker (which you obviously are), then it'll be great.

Got to love the Buick Small Block 215 ci , and its bigger brothers 300 ci and 340 ci , its funny the 300 replaced the 215 in the US and it came strangly with cast iron heads and alloy block ?

Nice one mate! I just found your channel now… I’m soon to embark on my own RR classic journey of ownership! It’s been a lifelong dream… I’m so looking forward to it. I’m going to start with the engine rebuild and then go from there. I prefer to start with a fresh slate and then go from there. That way it doesn’t end up being a never ending money pit.

Ahah excellent 👌. Et merci. Je viens de déménager et ma nouvelle maison a un énorme garage. Ça sera mieux pour ce genre de projet.

What sort of jobs do you and your dad do in order to do this off the top of your heads? I wish I had someone to work with who I could learn a bit from

Well we have never been professional mechanics. But always keen to tinker with anything that spins, rolls, bangs and pops whilst making a nice sound. Wishing you the best my friend

How many miles are on this engine? The Car Wizard says that "any European car with over 125k miles is a money pit that you will never reach the bottom of". I admire your commitment, but your marriage?

Yeah man I will admit that the car did begin to somewhat pollute our marriage as times. 😅
