Best singing advice I've heard "At the end of the road you just gotta think about what sound you wanna make and trust that your body is gonna be able to make it. If it's not able to make it, then you need to go figure out how to make that sound."
She's closing her eyes because she's talking about dreaming. It's perfect for the song.

hii I'm Spanish and I thought about translating the lyrics for you since this is a very emotional song that tells such a beautiful story. If you make me choose between you and wealth with all the greatness it comes with, oh love I stay with you. [note: meaning I chose you, I tried to make the translation as rough as possible] If you make me choose between you and glory for history to talk about me for centuries, oh love I stay with you. I've fallen in love and I love you and I love you I only wish to be by your side to dream of your eyes to kiss your lips to be in your arms that I'm very happy. [meaning that those situations make them happy] If you make me choose between you and the sky where flying is free to go to other nests, oh love [meaning the sky that gives them the freedom to fly away] I stay with you. If you make choose between you and my ideas so that without them I am a lost man, oh love I stay with you. I've fallen in love and I love you and I love you I only wish to be by your side to be in your arms that I'm very happy. To be in your arms, that I'm very happy.

Her faster vibrato is a style choice, culturally inherited from a brand of Spanish music close to flamenco roots called "copla". More specifically she uses the singing style of the old (original) copla singers. You can find some examples on KZread looking for these very old musicians like Juanito Valderrama. For instance, "El emigrante", a beautiful and nostalgic song dedicated to people in exile during the dictatorship times. You will also recognise some of the voice agilities she does in this song that directly stem from copla: kzread.info/dash/bejne/d2Vm0bR9l83edto.html . Another example is Antonio Molina, even more playful with agilities, just as old: kzread.info/dash/bejne/aH6Mw5elmJrJobg.html
Oh she's good. She's very good. When a performer can go out there and own the venue that way, they make it look so easy. What we don't see is the countless hours of practice and repetition before this recording.

You're great, amiga.
I love how he was shooketh just by the choir. I was like: “he’s not ready for what’s coming”
“I trust the journey that she’s trying to take me on, and I will go on that journey.” Yep, that's it, such a beautiful love song. I love the way the accent is so much a part of the flamenco sound, it’s so vowel-ful, it doesn’t have the consonants that many Spanish accents have. You can’t really hear the -g in contigo or the -d in enamorado for example, (the ends of those words sound like -i-o or -a-o, distinct vowels with barely any consonant). Also no -s to be heard at the end of words like ojos or labios. She’s also got the European lisp, (brazo sounds soft like bra-th-o and not bra-s-o, for example), which is how I learnt to speak Spanish. The result is that relatively simple pure set of vowels to play with in those beautiful melodic lines, (I love the sound of it, but sometimes I struggle to understand it, it really is very distinctive).
@MsLosties

Even though she's not from the south of Spain, the way she sings has that southern accent that you describe. Flamenco is sung like that since it's from the south. Also I wouldn't say the way she talks is an "european lisp". It's literally how Spanish is spoken in Spain.

she's actually catalonian and catalan speaker, that's why she pronounces like this, its quite a different pronuntation from spanish, specially because we have open vowels ( a, e, o) and pronounce diferently g and ll ( i'm catalonian too)

"YOU don't do it, but she can get away with it." hahaha loved that

I love Rosalía she's a amazing artist and she's the new generation that embodies the flamenco music where it shows so much emotions and it tells a story
The faster vibrato you make reference to is related to the way Flamenco is sung. Rosalía takes a lot of influences from Andalusian and flamenco culture.

omg yes! she's an amazing artist. her performances for slow songs are vocally amazing (in my non-professional opinion lol) and her album literally tells a story, and it's very deep. she found her way to mainstream pop keeping some references to her origins as well as to reggaeton and thank god she did because that's how I found her. sometimes in her live performances for those upbeat songs she sounds a bit out of breath, but she also dances so it's totally understandable and I believe it's something she's working on. loved to watch your commentary on an artist that I love, I hope u check out more of her stuff

This was gorgeous..😍😍😍 haha the way you mentioned eye contact in this video reminded me of a video I saw on Twitter a little while back.. fka twigs was doing a show and she started out walking past the audience and she suddenly stops, gets within an inch of this one guy's face, and just stands there staring into his soul for like a full minute or two, vocalizing and then she starts her set. It is electrifying just to watch, and I think it proves the power of eye contact in a musical performance, but I also think it would make for a very entertaining and short (so hopefully easy to do 😋) reaction vid 🥰🥰
Omg yes finally some Rosalía!! I loved it! But I really want you to check her out singing “Catalina” Live! It’s truly amazing
