Roomba 980 vs Dyson 360 Eye - 5 Tests, One CLEAR Winner -
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Let’s find out once and for all. In a 5 test head-to-head battle with the Roomba 980 vs Dyson 360 Eye, see which wins hands down with more efficient cleaning in a variety of challenging conditions. Thanks iRobot & Dyson for featuring in this video.
In this review, we see how the 360 Eye cleans in a spiral fashion with a classic rotary brush to suck up dirt. In comparison, the Roomba 980 cleans in rows with rubber extractor heads - which are becoming more common within the iRobot vacuum cleaner range. But which works best?

You had the Dyson on low power mode.
*I absolutely love this thing for cleaning all flooring surfaces **MyBest.Tools** even does a great job on throw rugs. Highly recommend! Cuts cleaning time in half!*
Three things nobody has on their floors: whole popcorn, a ball of wool, and "medium pile carpet" (looks more like the largest pile rug his local store had)

My Roomba has problems climbing an oriental carpet on hardwood. Sometimes it just burrows under it and stops. I dunno how this guy's managed to get over it.
This video seemed like you picked out the 3 flaws in the Dyson. "Brush/vacuum volume, height, and a very shaggy rug". These robots aren't made to pickup large particles, merely keep a house clean of pet hair/dust. The Dyson has a bigger motor, filters, and cyclonic technology... So its taller....and the shag rug although the fairest test, most people do not have and most robots will grab. I've owned both, besides run time, bin size, and slowing down in low light...the Dyson performs the best and has the best build quality among ALL the competition.

I don't have a Dyson, but I'm not impressed with the Roomba. Ours gets stuck on EVERYTHING. It eats cables, has sucked up credit cards and can't climb a thin (compared to that shag) carpet. The Roomba burrows under it and gets stuck. - I'm beginning to hate it.
I am using the Dyson 360 eye for nearly a year now. So how much dust did it collect over time? To empty the Dyson box I suck it with the big SEBO Automatic X1 vacuum cleaner. Finally after using the Dyson 360 eye for 9 months the big dust bag of the SEBO Automatic X1 was full, indicating the need of a new bag with a red light. :-)
You should have seen how they performed at mowing your lawn too...

One of the first things I upgraded on my Roomba was the extractor, ditching the brushes. No more snags and stalls for me. Anyone make an upright with brushless extractors?
Dyson says that the tank track makes it slower like a tank but it will give a lot of traction its supose to climb the rug👍🏻
I have had the 360 Eye for over a year now and absolutely love it, I have 2 kids and a dog. I used to love Roomba's until we were given the Dyson for as a gift. They are great helpers with hard suction and tank treds that are still gentle for hardwood floors, this challenge also warrants the classic housekeeping saying "If its big enough it pick up, you don't have to vacuum it"

When I need to use a vacuum to clean my vacuum there is something wrong.........Roomba. I spent just as much time vac-ing the debris left when I removed and emptied the cup/pulling off pet hair off the rollers, as it takes the Roomba the vac the floor. Dyson v10....empty the cup and go period. Also many have said the Dyson 'learns' so the 1st time may be slow/random however subsequent vacs the performance improves.

Its comedic watching Dyson's turn every time.
It would be nice to compare roomba with xiaomi vacuum cleaner. If it gets same results xiaomi is already winning (as it is half the price or less than roomba). I have one since monts and it's performing really well (but I never had any roomba for comparison)
I have owned the Dyson for 6 months now, the vacuum does its job very well. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another. Smart cleaning pattern, powerful suction, easy app. One thing that many reviews don’t post is the build quality. The Dyson 360 is built to last for years, not be worn out or replaced in a couple years.
The Dyson doesn't seem to be made to function in an everyday household...that dumps a trail of popcorn on the floor, or tears fuzzy wool into a trail of tufts? The fact that you didn't properly clean out both machines after each test is an indictment of your lack of seriousness about performing a legitimate set of tests.
Test #2 is pointless since everyone's furniture is different. If we know our furniture's gap and the height of the 360 from the datasheet, we can figure it out ourselves whether it fits our furniture. Save the time to show us other aspects like noise level -- these are things that we can't "feel" from the datasheet.

HA! I have five boys and I literally have popcorn on my floor several times a week. Among other things.
I'm sure that they made the Dyson eye 360 taller for a reason. This actually happened to me before, my roomba got stuck under the couch once and it wouldn't find it's way out again. So I had to move the couch the get it out. More trouble than it was worth! The Dyson eye 360 is the Artificial Intelligence of robotic vacuums!

Hmmm after re-watching the video/reading other comments I can see where you're coming from Arthur. My GF and I actually decided on a manual, handheld vacuum over a robot anyway (bought it weeks ago, before you commented). After much deliberation, I had come to the conclusion any robot vacuum is not worth the high price tag considering they still get stalled/stuck and need emptied frequently due to a small waste bin. If you're constantly getting up to get a stuck vac/emptying a bin, I felt like just save some money and do the vacuuming yourself as well! On top of that, no robot vacuum will get as detailed of a cleaning as a human would. Going to use a regular vacuum until the technology advances so much that they basically can get unstuck and empty themselves.
I am a robotics engineer and I can swear I have never seen a more piloted and false test than this

Have a Neato D4. Works well enough.
Where is your data showing how well it performed cleaning dust (the single most important task)? Not very convincing or professional testing unfortunately. The tests represented niche situations that seemed contrived, and it's not even clear to what extent you followed the manufacturers instructions in the manual about floor preparation for this form of technology.

I am a massive fan of the Dyson "stick" cordless cleaners, but unfortunatelly, the robot seems to be lacking. In theory, the cleaning performance is great, but the "robot" part of the machine doesn't seem to be well designed. Here, the iRobot's experience of making robots for longer and actually being a robotics company shows. I really hope we get an updated 360 Eye in the near future, because Dyson got a lot of stuff right...

If you don't believe this guy, look at the reviews from verified buyers on Amazon. Many of them gave it 1 star because of some of these same complaints. A lot of people gave it 5 stars as well, so it may be that some living spaces are a better fit for the Dyson. Who knows. I'm willing to give it the botd, since we have other Dyson products in the house (they're freaking awesome, been going on like 8 years now). But ultimately, I ended up going with the Roomba. I noticed that Roomba left a lot of popcorn behind but video was cut and edited. This just add by Roomba
The 960 is a champ too! www.robotreviews.com/reviews/the-miraculous-roomba-960
Why the Dyson in the firs test with popcorn is full before the beginning of the test? Why don you say that Dyson can fit under most of the dining chairs and romba can not because the diameter is too big? I can not see real test comparison like how dust will extract because in daily use this is the more common situation? So there has no clear winner! I'm sure that I can make 10 other test that romba will FAIL! Do not fool the people!

Wow the Roomba totally outperforms the way to expensive Dyson. Any $200 robot vac would beat that Dyson which can't seem to do anything well and looks designed terribly to do real world navigation in a typical home.
Setting up a test of clearance that only 1 can clear isn't a fair comparison when you could have, for fairness, done a test that compares width that only the Dyson could have fit through? Setting up two tests of larger debris rather than say a test of 1 large debris and 1 fine debris again isn't a proper comparison. This video is so very clearly set up for 1 machine to win that I cant see how you can call this a comparison. Poorly executed sponsored video I'm afraid

So far so good with this vacuum. kzread.infoUgkx8ISPQRRAfpAaX4msGjyodObTBnlj4T5g I was a little concerned to find it seems to be all plastic, but the reviews were good, so I'm hoping for the best. Very easy to assemble Recommened, and only attachments I've used so far work well, and are easy to use. Doing a good job on the new carpet in my bedrooms and stairs. Works well on the hardwood on my main floor too. Reasonable weight and cord length. I already knew from an earlier review that it wouldn't fit under furniture, but I can use my Eufy for that, so no problem - the high traffic areas that need a stronger suction was really what I bought this for. If it continues as it's started, it will be a good buy and well worth the money. I have had two Shark Rocket stick vacs in the past that are super easy to use, but the motors just don't last well, even with scrupulous cleaning of the filters. I'm hoping for better with this Bissell.
