Tim, thanks so much!! Indeed, Stephane has introduced so many of us.. to so many recipes!! They deserve all the recognition! Dang, my favorite cocktail.. funny enough, just yesterday I was saying to the wife that "Walking Stick" from Jason Asher might be my favorite recipe of the last 3 years. It's so so so so good. But outside of that, I love a good Navy Grog, and maybe even a Smith & Cross Mai Tai. Cheers, bud!

I'd like to thank Stephane too, because through that post, we got a video from you! My 2024 is now complete, bring on 2025! I feel I'm seeing someone tomorrow who might like this... Might batch a bit up... The crushed ice is an issue, so not sure... Maybe I'll just make this for Sparkle and myself and give her a mason jar and said enjoy on your own time... Or drink at lunch, since she is a teacher or something...

Stephane is the best, I save so many of their instagram posts for later consumption, and they've single handedly made me try dozens of cocktails I would never have heard of. Glad you dug the vid! I think even without the crushed ice you'll be allright, though you can always do the ol': put a bunch of cubes in a wrapped-up dishtowel and smack it with a tenderizer hammer.. often works! And yes, a few sips of this bad boy at lunch can help ease the pain of trying to teach.. which always sounds like one of the hardest jobs in the universe to me 😅 Cheers, Matt!

Thanks so much, Ann! Indeed, over the years whenever I see "aged rum" listed in a recipe.. my default was to use Flor De Cana 4yr, but for some reason central american rum doesn't jam with my palette as well, so I once saw someone use Mount Gay Black Barrel and was like "oh man, I'm making that my default from now on.." Works well! But, for folks who like Flor De Cana I bet it would also taste rad. And yes, thank goodness for Stephane!!! Thanks for watching as always, cheers!!

It's great! You could probably do some subs and still get close, like a Flor de Cana for the aged rum, maybe a Don Q or Bacardi 151 for the overproof, and then a mild rum like a Kirk & Sweeny or Bumbu for the pineapple.. would change some inherent flavors but with the rest of the ingredients it will still give you something fun!
