Rogue Iron Game - Ep. 24 / The Standard - Individual Men Event 11 - 2019 Reebok CrossFit Games

Спорт

Complete coverage of "The Standard," the final event of the Men's Individual competition at the 2019 Reebok CrossFit Games in Madison, Wisconsin. Involving three benchmark workouts back-to-back-to-back, the Standard will determine whether Mat Fraser is able to hold on and win his fourth straight CrossFit Games title (matching Rich Froning's achievement) or if Noah Ohlsen will be the man to finally unseat him. The video begins with Rogue Iron Game episode 24, as Chase Ingraham, Dan Bailey and Annie Sakamoto recap Tia-Clair Toomey's dominant win in the Women's Individual competition before previewing the men's final. The Men's event itself begins at the 8 minute mark, and it doesn't disappoint. Fraser vs. Ohlsen has defined much of the weekend, and the same goes for The Standard.
The Standard event features:
30 Clean and Jerks (Grace) - 135 LBS
30 Muscle-Ups
30 Snatches (Isabel) - 135 LBS
(Time Cap: 12 minutes)

What I've observed and think, Olsen got ahead only due to Cardio body weight event amount in the early stage, so many good athletes took a hit there and even failed the cut, like Fikowski, once events turned into weight oriented one, that's where Olsen simply couldn't keep up to Fraser, same happened with Froning, especially swim, which was his main weakness.

Mat is just a different guy mentally, from his competitiveness to his ability to enter a dark place and sustain it. @@mcgeek4781 Contrary to what CrossFit thinks, its sport is probably the number one sport in the entire world to reap the greatest overall benefit from steroid use because of the drugs' affect on recovery. That alone is reason enough to believe that a large number of practitioners use them. Why? When you ask a high-end CrossFit athlete what he did for his rest day, it's not unusual for him to respond, "I didn't take one" or "I ran a half-marathon," or, "I did a recovery row." Such commentary leaves one to ponder, are these people super human or super stupid? Taxing your body to such a degree is one of the best reasons to get on gear. Train three times a day, never take a day off, make yourself equally proficient at a hundred different exercise moves, do Fran in under 2:30 and expect to carry on like this for decades? How can a human body endure like this? Well, you know, if it does it's probably not the Wheaties. And therein lies the rub. www.t-nation.com/powerful-words/crossfit-and-steroids

I love how the CrossFit zealots defend the beliefs that these athletes are clean. At the top tier of any sport where money and fame is on the line PEDs will be there as well. Besides. It’s not normal to do what these guys and girls can do. Cardio of a triathlete. Athleticism of a gymnast. Strength of Olympic lifter. Speed of a track and fielder.......But with the physic of bodybuilders? Yeah right. It is what Johnny Romano said” if there was a sport built for PEDs, it would be CrossFit” And if you need further proof, just go pull up images and videos from the games 10-15 years ago. The athletes look nothing alike.
