You haven’t lived unless you saw Rodney make Johnny laugh. Pure gold. I miss those days.
The voice, the face, the ticks, the self-deprecation, wit, charm, style and blue collar down to earth manner will never be duplicated. First ballot inductee to the hall of comedy fame. NO DOYBT!!
It was always pure joy to watch Johnny.Rodney Dangerfield Robin Williams Jonathan Winters Don Rickles.Late night has never been the same and I'm afraid it never will .All of them are gone I really truly miss those guys and all the late night magic moments.RIP Guys.
Rodney, THE cure for depression.. Rodney dangerfield, one of the best ever!.
I love when you can hear Carson dying with laughter off camera. You could tell he really enjoyed and respected damn good comedians.

Rodney has the best energy in his delivery ever
I love Johnny's little gestures every time Rodney moves to a new topic. "Oh, we're talking about that now? Okay", subtle gestures, but there, and didn't interfere with Rodney's flow. Johnny was the best.
Almost every night in the 70s and 80s you would catch a legend on Carson, including the great Rodney Dangerfield

What an ending - You pick a topic. Johnny roars. My face hurts! 🤣
Rodney knew what made Johnny laugh. One time when his bit was over he turned to the other guest and said “So what’s new with you?” And Johnny jumped out of his chair laughing 😂

How I wish “entertainment” was one-fifth this good today. All the late night shows today should be off the air at 5:00.

You will never see another comedian like Rodney Dangerfield.
These 2 guys together had some of the funniest stuff you will ever see!
Imagine the pressure this guy was under to deliver one liners like that! He was the goat!

Absolutely the best.
I just performed on that same stage at the Tropicana two weeks ago and was thinking of Rodney. ❤
I liked the joke "every year mom would take my school pictures and put them in the cabinet under the sink and behind the refrigerator to keep the roaches out of the house".

"I appeal to everyone who can do me absolutely no good..." I know the feeling Rodney....Requiem en Pace..

That cleaning his teeth joke is actually hilarious, but you gotta think about it. He takes out his dentures to clean them, so hence, he can talk while they're soaking. 😂🤣
The greatest there ever was!
From a time so many of us just took for granted would last forever.. well, nothing does, thankfully, we have these video clips. NO talk show host today, could even shine Johnny Carson's shoes.. they're all hate filled politicized jerks. Johnny and his guests- were always classy- even Rodney with his double entendres - funny and sorely missed.

The night I saw the Tonight show live I hit the jackpot. Johnny, Ed were there & of course the great Rodney!!!!!!!!!!!!
He was such a funny, funny guy! Timeless humor.
I never get any respect. I bought my son a bow and arrow set for Christmas, be got me a sweatshirt with a target on the back!
Back in those days my alarm clock was set to 4:50am for work but I would routinely sacrifice sleep time so as to not miss The Tonight Show.
You could see how much Johnny seemed to look forward to having Rodney on his show. Even if some of the jokes had been done before, it was always a good and uproarious time. 👍
Carson knows when to shut up & let the man work his magic.
To whoever runs this channel: Please post a clip every day!
Rodney was a great comedian, but Rodney and Johnny are the perfect couple. Contrast an episode like this (which I haven't seen before, merci beaucoup for posting this) with Rodney going on David Letterman. Rodney was trying the same routine, but Dave would be so sarcastic that he really pulled the rug out from under him. I think Rodney was too nice to mention it but I'm sure he wasn't excited about going on with Dave.
We could use these two right now in this screwed up world
Love when he mentions his doctor
The absolute best 👍
Hearing Rodney laugh from Carsons joke about streamlining was heartfelt. Never heard his voice go up that high before.

Quick witted funny guys.
Johnny Carson was obviously one of Rodney's biggest fans. He had him on the show repeatedly and the audience just loved him. Judging from Johnny's extreme style of clothes and long hair this show had to air in the 70's. Carson was a heavy cigarette smoker, and he can be seen smoking in this clip.

Rodney once asked Johnny if he could have one of his cigarettes and Carson replied "You know Rodney their not good for your health" to which Rodney replied "Well I got this crazy doctor who told me I gotta keep smoking if I want to stop chewing gum, so what do I care". And Carson almost fell out of his chair laughing hystairacly. 👍
“Thats how I met her!” 🤣😂

It's very rare to see Rodney make mistakes in his monolog. To see him cracking up makes this the best guest appearance on the Tonight Show.

"To see him cracking up..." 👍 Everyone old enough to remember, is too old to know if you're right.
Miss this, but the 70’s. Ties so wide you could land a 747 on them, and the leisure suit. WHAT were we thinking?!
Rodney was so good, he should have been on Carson's very last show as his only guest.
Am 72 , and agree 100%
Johnny Carson total one off ..what a guy.
The camera guy really got a workout following Rodney as he was bobbing and weaving back and forth I tell ya, he don't get no respect either. The way Rodney was going on Johnny could've gotten up, walked backstage, gotten a drink, had a smoke, come back and Rodney never would have even known he was gone. This really brings back some great memories. This year was a very special one for me as a 14 year old kid. Watching Carson most nights I was so young and honestly thought he'd be there doing his show forever. Getting old sucks, but not quite as bad as the alternative 😉
Haven't seen that one. Thanks for sharing!
A man in the crowd asks: Hey Rodney, how'd you get started? Rodney: I was 12 years old, alone in my room, and I got started! My wife's so dumb, she got a nail in the spare!! I tell ya, I don't get no respect ... Last week, my wife told me that she was going to cut me down to twice a month. But I thought about it, and I figured that it wasn't too bad. I know a couple of guys that she cut out completely. I remember the time I was kidnapped and they sent a piece of my finger to my father. He said he wanted more proof. I saved a girl from being attacked last night. I controlled myself. I told my dentist my teeth are going yellow. he told me to wear a brown tie. I'll tell ya, I don't get no respect... The other day, I got back from a business trip. I got in a cab and said to the driver, "Hey! Take me to where the action is!" So ya know where he took me? He took me to my house! Do ya remember the first time you had sex? I do, and boy, was I scared! I was alone! I told my psychiatrist that everyone hates me. He said I was being ridiculous - everyone hasn't met me yet. I was so ugly my mother used to feed me with a sling shot. I went to a fight the other night, and a hockey game broke out. I worked in a pet store and people would ask how big I would get. I'm at the age where food has taken the place of sex in my life. In fact, I've just had a mirror put over my kitchen table. My cousins gay, he went to London only to find out that Big Ben was a clock. My father carries around the picture of the kid who came with his wallet. My mother had morning sickness after I was born. My marriage is on the rocks again, yeah, my wife just broke up with her boyfriend. My mother never breast fed me, she told me she only liked me as a friend. My psychiatrist told me I was crazy and I said I want a second opinion. He said okay, you're ugly too. My uncle's dying wish - he wanted me on his lap. He was in the electric chair. My wife and I were happy for 20 years. Then we met. My wife is always trying to get rid of me. The other day she told me to put the garbage out. I said to her I already did. She told me to go and keep an eye on it. My wife met me at the door the other night in a sexy negligee. Unfortunately, she was just coming home. My wife wants sex in the back of the car and she wants me to drive. R.D.
