Unbelievable day for me. Both my adult daughters called me at different times today and started signing this song to me! I thought that was a beautiful coincidence. I am very blessed with wonderful children. Now, same day, you are reacting to the same song!!! I have always loved this song and sang it often to my kids as they were growing up. BTW, Chad....I've said this before...You look great in red! Thank you for this perfect reaction to a perfect day!
Always loved this guy!!!
One of the best voices, for sure!
Love Rod Stewart ❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊
I used to drool over the Rod Stewart posters on my bedroom wall along with Marc Bolan of T-Rex, david Bowie and the Beegees of course. Rod is timeless and ageless and his voice has never changed except toget better. I love his version of this beautiful song but have to say that Van the Man just has the edge. Theres so much more out there from Rod and i look forward to hearing more from you Chad. Thanks xx
He is absolutely amazing. Saw him back in 79 great performance. Great song. As usual a great reaction. Great job Chad
Beautiful! This song makes me cry! It is such a sensitive declaration of love! I love the mix of songs you choose each week, some very cool and loud and some very sensitive and emotional! Thanks Chad!
Classic love song. I haven't heard the original, but I'm going to look it up now.
Love his music
Love both versions. Thanks!
A fun entertainer. When I saw him in TO he kicked around a soccer ball back and forth with the crowd. I think it's a tradition with him. As soon as he opens his mouth, you know it's Rod. My canary is singing along with him right now. "Rod the Mod", a Scot who proudly wears his nationality on his sleeve. He divorced a couple times and once said (not verbatim) next time I'll just find a woman I hate and buy her a house. 🤣 I love Van Morrison too!
First really got into Rod when Maggie May was in the charts in the 70s and saw him live several times, the last time being about 6 years ago. ❤ thanks for you review.
This is a really nice song, especially to his wife.😢❤ Thank you sweetie 😘
Great song chad x
Rod can do no wrong in my eyes. He's one of my favorite performers ever, and still at it. ROD the MOD!! The stripped down versions of popular artists' work on "Unplugged" were wonderful acoustic performances. I got to see Rod in 1996, and it was one of the best concerts I ever saw in my life. This song is from 1991's "Vagabond Heart." It's the album with "Rhythm of My Heart" and "Downtown Train." I personally love rockin' Rod (1970's) even more. "Tonight's the Night" is a generational type of song, and pretty fun!! "Reason To Believe" from the early 70's is probably my favorite song. Really, I don't know how you pick. Did you know Rod dropped a new album 2 weeks ago? It's called "Swing Fever" and it's a collection of big band (yes, like 1940's) tunes. I've listened to the whole thing a couple of times and love it. You asked about Van Morrison. I love his voice. I have the album "Avalon Sunset." It's the one "Have I Told You" is on. Van Morrison's voice is pure honey. If you have never heard anything from 1970's "Moondance," you must do it. "Crazy Love" will make you swoon.

I'm a huge fan of Van Morrison too. 👍
I love this song and this (Rod Stewart’s version in general) version of it so much! It’s just so sweet and beautiful! It’s so sweet that Rod Stewart dedicated it to his wife! I’ve only ever heard the studio recording until just now. This was a beautiful live performance. This is the first version I ever heard and was the only one I heard for a long time. I had no idea that it was a cover until I, one day awhile back, came across the original version. I’d, actually, forgotten who it was by until you said it in this video. I, of course, had to listen to it to see how it compared to Rod Stewart’s version. I don’t really remember what it was like, being that I’ve only heard it a couple times before not recently, but, I think, I remember preferring Rod Stewart’s version. I don’t remember if it was just because I was way more used to his version or if there was a more specific reason. I think I’m gonna need to listen to the original again.

What do you mean? Which version of the song do I like better? After listening to the original version again, I’m not sure, as I think both versions are really beautiful.
I tended to a " no" concerning Rod Steward, but this was an absolutely excellent performance. I enjoyed it very much. Maybe I should think about my musical preference😊
Elvis has a beautiful version of this song.
Rod has had a few wives!
