Yes, unfortunately it's true. The Bee Gees have been treated unfairly for close to two decades. Radio DJ'S around the world wouldn't even listen to the Bee Gees new songs, they refused to play their songs outright. And the few that did play them, couldn't stop themselves making fun of the Bee Gees and their high pitched voices. In the end it took other artists that started to cover Bee Gees song to make the Bee Gees music credible again. And suddenly the world took notice of the incredible music the Bee Gees had created. Radio stations started to play the songs again, and played their new music as well. And they stopped to ridicule the Bee Gees, and instead started to tell their listeners what great talents the Bee Gees are. This song proves their ability to adjust to the time they were living in. Although this song often was questioned as it looked a lot like 'Chain reaction' by Dinana Ross. A hit that was written by the Bee Gees. But I think it's a great song, love the beat and lyrics. And both Barry and Robin on lead together. Can't go wrong.

XO Love your reaction to this song. Heard it for the first time from you as l do a lot of their songs. Guess it’s because their songs were never played on the radio that I listened to. Such a shame that the BeeGees were treated like that Many people will never know some of their songs and realize what a talented bunch of guys they really were. Love this song. Thank you Chad.

25 year old fan here!! their music is fantastic. I prefer them over the beatles any day. I think they are very underrated, its sad that they are just super stars in the disco era

I usually like their early work best but I do love this one. Great harmonies, normal Barry voice and fabulous Robin part. You can tell they don't share a stylist though haha. Mo as stylish as ever, Robin as often in a polo neck and Barry looks like he forgot to get dressed at all (or wanting to show off his body) just in his vest!

Funny how in most of their performances they each had their own unique style. The only time they dressed the same (other than when they were children) was when they did their Spirits Tour. Otherwise, they gave each other room to find and express their own individuality.

Laurie Barnes - In so many songs his ad lib fillers really gave depth to the songs. This one and "You win again" for example. He was big on "Oh, babe", LOL.

Oh Dude - there is nothing irrelevant about beautiful Mo. He's all Miami Vice bad guy and definitely pulls it off. This is a great song from High Civilization. Do you hear Beach Boys? To me it is a high tech Beach Boys influence in the harmonies and the drum fills. No "secret" how much I "love" Barry's voice, and wow, Robin seriously brings it too.

YAAAYYY! I've been waiting for this one for a long time and was so disappointed when it was blocked, but got it now. Thanks Chad!!!! This is up there as one of my absolute favorites. Reasons, besides being a terrific song....Mo's burgundy fedora, Robin's hair and a '69 or '70 E-type Jag. What more could a girl want? There are times when the leads switch back and forth so smoothly that they blend like melted butter! Robin's ad libs were great. Last weekend I was biking on a trail and got a few strange looks when I realized this was on my i-Pod and I was belting it out at the top of my lungs!

Top secret! No, was a big hit in Europe, especially in Germany. Still has many airplays on BR 1 = Bavarian Radiostation One, which is also elected to Germany's Nr. 1 in 2021! Saw them live playing that song in Munich, 'High Civilization'-tour. Many young girls ran to the frontrow by hearing the guitar-intro. Phantastic concert at all, this was! Over all, I'm kinda really happy guy. Why? Was a 15 year old boy, visiting their concert in Munich 1969. Lateron, 1988 Munich, 1991 Munich and also Salzburg, 2004 Munich (Robin's Magnet-tour). Not sure, if all the years I've mentioned are correct, but so what. Lets call it lifetime-experiances.

Hi Chad this may or not be news to you but the Bees Gees not only had huge success as a group and writing their own songs but they wrote numerous songs for other artists, did you know for example that Islands In The Stream the hit song for Dolly Parton & Kenny Rogers was written by the Bee Gees. Also Diana Ross’ Chain Reaction was written by them and featured them doing backing vocals too. And the same for Dion Warwick’s Heartbreaker!

enjoyed your video. the beat you love harks back to chain reaction but has a positive tone that's very infectious. a classic bee gees track for me. for anyone interested another song (that doesn't get mentioned a lot) and in this ilk for me is When He's Gone. So this song was a pretty big in the UK (#5), but in the US they chose to release 'When He's Gone' instead which did not even chart. I guess 'Secret Love' is more Europop and the harder edged 'When He's Gone' was meant to appeal to the US market. Strange that the lead single in the US and the album tanked only a couple years after the success of 'One', but there was very little promotion by Warner Bros.

And yet people still try to keep hammering home that the Beatles were bigger than the Bee Gees. Really? I like one Beatles song 'The long and winding road' , Did they last over 5 decades or write in so many genre?

I notice the first “scenery” image in your “opening credits” sequence is of a section of Singapore city (where I’m from). Is there a reason why it’s there (eg have you visited Singapore, lived there before, etc) That said, I really enjoyed this reaction. Somehow, this song has a vibe that’s similar to Chain Reaction (for me at least). Been viewing and enjoying your videos and look forward to more. Hope that after the Bee Gees, which I love, you move on to other groups with outstanding harmonies like ABBA, Carpenters and the Manhattan Transfer!
