A superb “comeback” album, moving on from Fever & Spirits. So many people have never heard these beautiful songs. Simply sublime. I’m the lucky one, seen them live many times and spent time in the studios with them. Lifelong memories.

You are so right. I hadn't heard of hardly any post '78 songs! I was a casualty of the blacklisting of the BeeGees. And by that, I mean I lost track of them after the Main Course and the Sat Night Fever soundtrack. Because radio stopped playing their songs! (There was so much good music then anyway). But I must say Ive been catching up with all the missed albums & songs and am enjoying them immensely! Just wondering..how were you affiliated...???❤❤❤😊

@@rwilson7197I was born in 81, and I grew up with The Bee Gees whenever the family got together, my dad and uncles would play darts and rock to The Bee Gees. By the time this album was released, 1981, the media had pretty much written The Bee Gees off as a 70’s “Disco Group” and the album was not well-received (at least in the US) as a result. It’s a shame, because it was really an incredible album.

Unmatched harmony. No one can touch their talent. I've sat with my mouth open in amazement too. I never got to see them in person, which I do regret. But even videos like this leaves me in awe. Another video that leaves me in awe is the only love. I think the video was shot in Italy or maybe Spain when they were on tour. Barry did such a good job on that song.

Sandra Dyer - That is true. Glad he didn't have a Dalmatian. Robin was Robin. Maurice said "They don't make them like Rob any more". A big kid sometimes but a deep philosophical thinker other times. He could be shy and quiet or funny and outrageous. No one ever knew which Robin would show up or what he would wear or what his hair color or style would be.

The Bee Gees are able to connect so well with their audience whether it’s adults like you or me or children like in this video. I enjoyed your response and seeing the children respond but also really enjoyed seeing the sweet and soft facial expressions of the Gibb brothers and the swaying in time with the rhythm of the music. All in and genuine and heartfelt, as are your Triple L videos. Brings me joy. 🥲 The lyrics of this song seem to be so beautiful also and I want to become more familiar with them. To me, this song is a gem. Thank you!

A really great album. The first after the backlash began to mellow. They really tried to avoid any dance sound and came up with classics that stand the test of time. At the time I was some what disappointed because I was a big big fan of their dance grooves but now it's one of my favorites.

I love the song and also liked seeing the Bee Gees having so much fun performing and the faces of the children in awe. I heard that they were performing at a birthday party for Barry s son who supposedly in the video. And such poetic lyrics... The song is about everyone being kinder to each other. " Living to love is the reason we shine" As a side note...on their versatility...Maurice did several country songs!

Like most of their post-Fever music this song, and album, are criminally underrated. Don’t get me wrong, I love their disco era music, but they were always so much more than that. Living Eyes was also a return to both Robin and Maurice getting a chance to sing lead, which I really missed. Check out Don’t Fall in Love with Me and I Still Love You (Robin) and Wildflower (Maurice)

This song came out one year after the big disco burnout. I don't know if you're familiar with this story, but it was a huge disco and Bee Gees expulsion from the radios and consequently the charts. This song is from their last album before the 80's break up. It was a pretty sad moment for them, and this was an attempt to keep on.

The Bee Gees has an impact on. The entire world. Not only for their plethora of talent, but also fie their humility. They didn't allow themselves to get the big egos that most artisr get. They were philanthropic and they were ALWAYS kind to their many fans. These brothers did exactly what they set our to do when they were young..become serious songwriters and artist. They wanted to leave a positive impact on the world and they did. RIP MAURICE Go b soon

Chad, you're awesome! The whole album is absolutely worth a listen and so excellent. US missed it because of the crime of backlash. On this one you can find two outstanding songs: 'Be Who You Are', with Barry on lead, making a stunning statement and using both of his voice-abilities. And "Crying Everyday", with Robin singing like being set free from ball and chains.

I didn't care for it. Barry played along. But even he said that he was not an angry person. He didn't understand why he was portrayed that way. I think at that point the majority of people were not aware of how the Bee Gees were treated and made fun of after the success of Saturday Night Fever. Barry, Justin and Fallon became friends after that. Watching the HBO Documentary, I realized how Barry was a good sport considering being made fun of by Fallon and Timberlake. However, if you watch past interviews of the brothers they were very sensitive to their music being made fun of. Example: Barry followed by Robin then awkwardly by Maurice, walked out of the Clive Anderson interview. It is on KZread. As angry that Barry was, he was still polite.

Have you watched their documentary? Their mum was a singer, Barry tried skipping school "chucking sickies," to listen to her sing around the house. She wanted to restart her career, after her kids grew up, hubby wouldn't have it. They have a sister who never went in for the industry, but could fill in if one of the guys couldn't make it. They didn't have a lot, but didn't need too many records, they listened to each other and sang along. You are missing out, for "Staying Alive" the video, Andy was on stage with the brothers. They were obviously enjoying themselves so much. If you don't want to react to it, just watch it for yourself.

I'm a new subscriber and late to this video. Thank you for reacting to Living Eyes, the song is so very beautiful, and Living Eyes the album is my favorite Bee Gees album, and that's saying so much when you consider all of their amazing works. Unfortunately, because of litigation issues and huge law suits with their longtime manager Robert Stigwood, the brothers didn't have their usual team behind them to promote Living Eyes. Robert Stigwood had underhandly acquired all the rights to every single song the Bee Gees had ever made, their whole catalog. And, as Barry has said he had to "go to war" to get the rights back to their music, which he did though it took a couple of years to do it. So sadly, Living Eyes was not released with strong backing and didn't get the promotion Robert Stigwood and his team would have provided under normal circumstances. Today, however, Living Eyes is a die-hard Bee Gee's fan favorite and many consider it to be one of their best works. It is phenomenal to appreciate that Living Eyes was the first album the brothers made after the horrible disco backlash they got caught up in. They were dealing with that, the loss of their song catalog, litigation to get it back, and the dissolving of Robin's marriage and drawn-out custody battle during the making of Living Eyes, and it was still one of their finest achievements. Living Eyes IMO, is their most sophisticated album and takes the listener to a higher level of music appreciation. And, they were at their most dashingly handsome on the cover against the nighttime city silhouette.

My fave Bee Gees song of all time is "Country Lanes" 1975. It's a Robin lead vocal from the album "Main Course." Please react to this one and you will fall in love with it as well.

Thank you so much for sharing your reactions. It's so enjoyable to share a favorite song or artist with a friend who appreciates the music too. And to hear songs I haven't really heard before. I appreciate it. Totally understand what you are saying about Staying Alive. EVERYONE has heard it, more than once. ❤️ Iconic.

🥀Amazing Song I've always loved this song it's been a since I've heard it. The Brothers Bee Gees are a hard act to follow they were writting many song's in days some several in less than a week especially during "Main Course " from there on up. I love all song's I seen them in Atlanta Ga in 1975 kicking butt on stage I was on 2nd row it was amazing performance . I've still got my ticket stubs. Take care and keep safe Stay Gold. Thank's for posting this video it's priceless🥀☝️🥀

This is one of my all time favorite BeeGees songs. It came out right after the big DISCO BACKLASH, and although I wouldn't call this a DISCO song, every BeeGees song was a tardet for the HATERS!! I loved the BeeGees then, and I love them now!

May I suggest "ONE" (the official video...) by these three humble, generous brothers and Musical Geniuses - and "HOLD HER IN YOUR HAND", a solo venture by Maurice Gibb? I still think it would be fun to watch You react to "Staying Alive" (official video...) - even though You've heard it a time or two, over the years...😉 Keep the music reactions (of all genres...) coming - Your genuine way of analyzing each track is truly heartwarming to watch, my friend!💕🎼🎶

I wish I could have been at one of their concerts, I was too busy raising my kids. But now I have such regret and three brothers are gone leaving just Barry. I am a huge fan of Barry. Their music gives me such emotions and I am very attached to their music daily. I cry a lot listening to it because it affects me so deeply. The Bee Gees truly were geniuses.
