Every time I watch that fight again I get a small glimmer of hope that this time Atomic will flip Typhoon 2 over.

Poor Atomic, their run this season is fantastic and they're one of my favorites, but in their fight against Typhoon 2 their relative inexperience does show. They come SO close to getting the first flip but before the second they bumped Typhoon just out of their range before they flipped. If they waited before firing the second time they probably could have caught up to it before it could get up to speed. They wanted to get it over as fast as possible, completely understandably, but their desperation cost them. I think that's one of the biggest disappointment things to not getting another classic series to me, I think with this season's experience Atomic could have easily refined its style a bit and little issues like this and have been even more of a serious contender. That was a long ramble sorry lol

Typhoon got incredibly lucky against Atomic. They could’ve easily had them out of the arena.

Honestly if that hadn't happened I think Atomic would've won. With that big Blade it's an Anti-Spinner like plough. Though I don't know if they would've been able to stop X-Terminator like Typhoon did.

Ross Heuchan it would have won, would have probably got Typhoon OOTA, I think it would have beaten Tornado, don’t know about X-Terminator or Storm II

I think if Atomic's plough was low enough they might've been able to get under Storm 2 as we ll...though that's a big guess.

I think Grim Reaper is the only robot to have all of its matches go to judges decision. I’m probably wrong about that but I can’t think of any other bots with a similar track record

Seeing Atomic getting hit by Typhoon 2 makes me wince

Firestorm is probably the best robot never to win a series. Beautifully controlled. Mute is fantastically entertaining but their flipper was maybe a little bit too powerful. And in the event they flipped themselves out (with a little help from Firestorm). Great fight. Thermidor - the house thugbots spent more time trashing it than Typhoon took to knock it out. Am I the only one who finds this gratuitous vandalism with the house robots repellent? I'm not fond of Typhoon, maybe if they ripped a few pieces of a house bot occasionally I'd warm to them a little. Storm 2 vs Grim Reaper - what on earth took the judges so long (except phony TV theatrics?). And what was Bash doing except making a minor nuisance of itself? Really, the house robots are an embarrassment. Storm is enormously powerful. Atomic is now an impressive flipper. So is new arrival M2. Wish the TV series had continued so we could see more of them. Quite a battle, with Bash tediously getting in the way occasionally, Atomic might have gone over the rail if Bash's flamethrower hadn't got in the way. But Atomic had the advantage of a lower blade (or it seemed to get under M2 in any head-on). Storm 2 outdrove Firestorm in a cracker of a fight. There are very few robots that could manage that. Never even used its lifter arm. Sad to see Firestorm go out but Storm 2 is very impressive. Typhoon 2 was lucky that Atomic flipped itself and had some problem self-righting. Otherwise Atomic could well have flipped them out, as it appeared to be well on the way to doing.

Firestorm may well and truly have been crowned grand champions had they been drawn against typhoon/atomic, and possibly have beaten tornado in the final round 1. That leaves X terminator in the final which they would have destroyed.

@@adrianyoungs8166 Poor luck who they faced really. Storm 2 Firestorm were the best two bots in the compmby a fair way in my opinion. Storm 2 won the comp forget the stupid judges decision in the final.. typhoon 2 should have been gone in the melee in the heats and and against Atomic here as well.

Most of them did try to come back (series 1 to 7) but had to go through qualifiers before the tv stage, which they failed to get through.

Oh wow never seen that Atomic fight, Typhoon got very lucky indeed.

Aside from the seeds it's all random in the heats. For the semi finals I have no idea. Judging from previous series they always have some system in place but this series looking at how it panned out I can't wrap my head around it so unless I'm missing something it's either completely random or because of last minute changes to the heats (Tornados heat was supposed to be heat A), seeds pulling out (Dominator 2 and Terrohurtz) and producer meddling in general the system that was in place might have been completely screwed.

@@ashurarbaces8069 The grand final was defiantly planned by the producers. Theres no way Tornado and Storm 2 were not fighting in the eliminator, they didnt want any rambot in the grand final much less risking it being an all rambot final.

Behemoth and Atomic went out to 2 easy robots to beat: Mute and Typhoon 2.

That was Mute's crowning glory by accidentally clipping Behemoth's transmitter off and the poor robot couldn't be controlled. Mute's weapon was itself.

Well if you think about it, there was a flipper in every semi final battle, but none of the flippers made the grand final

Literally every robot looks shit next to Storm 2. They'll always be the true Champs of series 7.

All of you saying that typhoon 2 got lucky, typhoon 2 is the best full body spinner I've ever seen and does a hell of a lot of damage and can damage any kind of flipper when up to full speed

It wasn't up to speed though that was the point, the first time in this series that their opponent manage to hit them before they reached high enough speed to deflect them away and then the opponent took themselves out essentially

@@dr.zoidberg8778 They werent up to speed in the heat melee either and got through that on a technicality,, Bigger Brother decided to flip the other bot instead and had they gone and finished Typhoon 2 off first the judges wouldnt have been able to give the cheating bast@rds that pathetic judges decision which ultimately finished the show off in my opinion. This series was underrated on second viewing but totally ruined by producer interference. Typhoon 2 wasnt that good, it had a major design flaw with no self righter 😂,, how it won has always baffled me.

I highly doubt that, Typhoon's biggest strength was it's speed across the arena floor, its manoeuvrability, and how well driven it was by Gary Cairns; Hypnodisc would have struggled against them, they weren't anywhere near as manoeuvrable, and their disc was nowhere near as destructive. Razer is similar, easier to control than HD, but not as fast as Typhoon, and if a machine can't catch up with Typhoon then they're going to be extremely vulnerable. To add to that as well, neither Razer nor Hypnodisc were built particularly sturdily, HD had aluminium armour, which would have been absolutely shredded, and Razer's armour was also comparatively lightweight, steel I think. Compare it with Storm II, that was armoured in 6mm titanium around the sides and 12mm on the front, which is why it fared so well against Typhoon.
