Robotwars Series 5 Heat B Part 1
Ойын-сауық
The fifth wars saw a return to the same fighting format as Series 3, with 4 one on one clashes for round 1 and it was similar to Series 3 with 8 contestants a heat. The question on everybody's mind was if the two time and current Robotwars UK Champion Chaos 2, could clinch an unthinkable third title. The familiar faces of Craig Charles and Johnathan Pearce remain in the spotlight and Phillipa Forrester has returned for the fifth wars. The 8 robots in Heat B are Hypno-disc, Black Widow, Atomic 2, Kan Opener, Wowot, Lambsy, Juggernot 2 and Bulldog Breed 2.

"I've spent a year building this robot!" "You're in the same heat as Hypno-Disc." "Fuck."

Dan Gleeson 😂😂😂
He spent a year building his robot and he is thrown into the arena with hypno-disc straight out the gate... Sometimes life just shits on you...
Hypno discs screech of death sounds terrifying but i love it😁😁
How did Juggernot 2 qualify for the fifth wars when Arnold A. Terminegger didn't?
I reckon Juggernot 2 would have struggled even if it was entered into series 2 with all the seires 2 robots.
Hypno-disc is one of my favourites. Series 5 is the best in my opinion :)
love the sound of hypno-discs flywheel spinning up
A walker against hypno disc who put that matchup together😂
9:50 the start of the coolest attack ive seen from a flipper.
Hypno-disc had compete in Robot wars Extreme. They won the mayhem against Wheely Big Cheese and Ming 3, they were the 3rd robot to go out in the 1st annihilator. They were eliminated in the all stars tournament against Behemoth, and they lost the UK vs Germany melee against Nasty Warrior.
You could defiantly tell Phillipa was a just become mum 😂
SPOILERS! Don't read unless you want to enjoy the show! ...and here comes Death in a robot form (I don't mean Team Death). Hypno-Disc is a force to be reckoned with. That disc has sheer power (as Hypno is the pioneer of discs in Robot Wars), and it can rip everyone apart except Berserk 2. Spin to Win! And here comes walkerbot Black Widow. It looked just okay for a walker, and it was very slow (as all walkers). Also that pickaxe didn't look too menacing (it would've been a lot better if it spun 360 degrees so that way they'd hit their opponents much more easily), and of course it had to be first matched up against Hypno-Disc. Well, Black Widow was shitty. It reminds me of Eleven from the same wars. Both had an ineffective axe, and both were matched up against previous Grand Finalists. Its fail on the arena flipper was HILARIOUS! The Black Widow team would later come back in the Seventh Wars with Killerkat (what the team described as a cross between Pussycat and Diotoir), and they even handed out good luck fur to other teams there! Sadly Killerkat still lost in the first round. Also, as a strength, durability? _Pfft_. Bulldog Breed has a great flipper, and they are the only ones to ever throw Pussycat out of the arena, which is quite a feat. The team is charming. I like them, but this was before they came a superpower. If they didn't ever reach the semi-final in the Seventh Wars (about time), I'd rank them among the best robots never to reach a Semi-Final, among with S.M.I.D.S.Y. Juggernot 2 barely counts as a fighting robot, if it is one. Well, they had to literally tear it apart to get in, so at least they have an excuse about why the robot was so shitty, unlike Monad from the same wars, which was deliberately built that way. Fit in every fault that a robot should never have, and you get Juggernot 2. High ground clearance, no weapons, slow, ponderous, unstable, fragile, and finally no srimech. I said no weapons because you can clearly see that it has no axe. How disappointing of a robot it is. Just disappointing. "Jugger-NOT a good robot!"
Why couldn't they put Juggernot against Hypno Disc? WOuld've been the best fight of the series.
I remember first seeing Black Widow on Techno Games (minus the axe) Good times
Yeah, have a look at the amount of high ground clearance robots chaos 2 gets.
Legless burning spider.
@ 0:22 the crowd is nuts
Black Widow - a 1 in 95 chance of being drawn against Hypnodisc - how unlucky can you get?! But how are those 'webs' allowed on the legs? I thought fibre weapons were banned?
S5❤😊
Black Widow vs. Hypno-Disc = the Battle of Oxfordshire :)
Those strands of "web" should never have been allowed on Black Widow
What was the point in putting Hypno-disc against Black Widow really? Waste of time watching it when there's 0% competition. At least all the matches last war there was at least some chance that either side could win

+UFOash Walkers in general have little chance so it wouldn't really matter which robot they go up against other than another walker.
Hypnodisc should have really put a skirt on itself like Panic Attack to protect its exposed wheels. With the self righting mechanism that's really its only major weakness...
@Tyranee It's already 100 kilos (limit), I reckon that Hypno Disc would have to lose vitals to add any skirts which isn't a good trade.
Those webs were Black Wiudow's only real chance against Hypno-Disc.
@acenace24 Juggernot Vs Granny's Revenge would be quite a close battle, I reckon
@athull08 Weren't there 16 heats in S5, and not just 12?
Juggernot was such a waste of space- and this was their SECOND attempt at a robot? Moved like a glacier, armour literally FELL off when it was flipped, no srimech despite an incredibly high ground clearance, if it had weapons we never got to see them. I thought we'd seen the end of crapbots like that after season 3?

To be fair, the team basically had to tear their bot to bits to get it under the weight limit.

They did have a srimech, but had to remove them to to get their robot under the weight limit. I don’t know what they were smoking when they thought that a petrol engine driving the wheels would be a good idea. If only Sgt. Bash was in the arena!
@VidmanXX no, there were 12, in series 5 and 6.
I laugh every time some idiot brings out a walker.
@athull08 Worse than that, actually: 1 in 127. xD
That is both hilarious and absolutely terrible, all at the same time.
not sure that the draws were done entirely by chance
@willmott2k10 It must of meant Bulldog Breed III couldn't self-right on its side
8:04 why did bulldog breed say no self-righting mechanism? i would've thought the flipper would self-right it =S
@VidmanXX how?
Can anyone tell me what it was like to see robot wars live?

it can be quite loud and not a lot of major destruction but it is cool

A tiny bit underwhelming sadly - the TV does add some magic - I was lucky to see three great matchesin S7 though - 13 Black v Gravity, Big Nipper v Grim Reaper, and Tornado v Tetanus Booster :)
Why on earth would that team think that Juggernot was a good design? Seriously!! :S
@willmott2k10 Must've meant on its side
@Asmazif recyclopse would have done better than a lot of the other robots in series 5. =D
+acenace24 @acenace24 Genius!
Juggernaut 2 probably wouldnt have made it past round 1 in the first series let alone the 5th
flipper strong robot stronger
Either way Black Widow wouldn't have made it far.
