Amazing performance.
Just an accomplished, very skilled actor.
Jesus what an interesting man. He just goes on and on and he isn’t trying to appear any way but he knows exactly who he is. He really captured my feelings about some of those old films eg Grapes of Wrath.

These Later uploads are awesome. Appreciate you putting this online so much. I know there's a gazillion podcast but a lot of those people don't know who to ask insightful questions like Costas does. I know some people find Costas elitist and I understand why but there's one question he's one of the best interviewers of his generation.

What Duvall says about Critics is quite true even to this day
That´s right, he did not play the character of Mack Sledge, he WAS Mack Sledge. I have never, to this day, seen Duvall better than in this movie.
costas had the best guests...
These actors do a job and they have a legacy on film- gets far more powerful as a person ages- hard to explain. ,his work has impacted my life a few times- his Boo Radley role stood inside me- I being the age of the children in that film- first time I experienced his acting in "To Kill A Mockingbird". Pauline Kael a great critic and writer. De Niro a kind of one-note samey actor much of the time. Duvall off on this one.
