I sat next to Rob at two World Series games in Philly back in 2010. Played it cool the first game despite being a huge ASIP fan. Second game, my girlfriend at the time, doing the one cool thing she ever did for me, broke the ice on my fandom. He thought it was really cool that I didn’t fan boy out. We ended up hanging out that night and keeping in touch a bit after. He is one of the all time nicest guys ever.

Acknowledging the huge advantages someone in his position has and the nearly unattainable standard it sets for a lot of the youth nowadays is such an amazing thing. Thanks for making me not feel inferior or lazy for not looking Like Mac does working out an an hour a day 4 days a week juggling overtime at work, continuing education/self improvement, social obligations, and paying for all the necessary stuff helps. I wish folks like The Rock, Ryan Gosselin, Chris Hemsworth and so on would be honest about the advantages that they have even if only to hedge against the potential for toxic positivity in the messages they put out.
