A new face on the international stage, Guyana's Carlos Petterson-Grifith's debut IPF worlds performance secured him a regional invite for Sheffield to represent South America.
While his path to Sheffield may have looked straightforward, his journey has been anything but. Finding the sport as he looked to rehabilitate from a life-changing accident, Petterson-Grifith has since dealt with pandemic travel restrictions and visa issues.
His warning to those ahead of him in the under 93kg class: "Don't slip."
