Road to Sheffield 2024 - Gustav Hedlund

Спорт

"To prove them wrong is the most enjoyable thing there is."
Sweden's Gustav Hedlund is no stranger to getting counted out. Coming into the 2021 World Championships, many saw the odds stacked against him. In the end he narrowly missed out on a gold medal finish, as he lost his final deadlift attempt just above his knees.
Having refined and recalibrated his approach to training, Hedlund brought a fearsome package to last year's championships, with the strongest second place finish of any man at the contest, securing his place at Sheffield 2024.
In the months since he has pushed himself even harder, eager to show that he has the ability to beat the USA's best in the 93kg division.

Gustav is a true fighter, the kind that takes all the punches and gives them back 2x harder. Can't wait to watch you at Sheffield !!

Someone in the 93s needs to get over 900 to distance the keep the record out of reach for Perk😂

Both Hedlund and Cayco will break 900 at Sheffield. I think both will get 9 lifts. But who will win. I think Hedlund will take it

I like Gustav and I only wish for someone to coach him to be more upbeat and engaging in interviews. He doesn't smile once, his face has no trace of emotion and his voice is monotone. He's articulate, determined and world class and if he can just tweak his interviews a bit, his fan base will explode.
