I saw the cartoon film in 1978. Read LOTR in 1983 and caddied for Christopher Lee at Gleneagles hotel the same year. during a pro celebrity golf tournament . He was an absolute gent and legend, i still have the photo of us together, my smile is a mile wide. He''d be appalled at this nonsense.

Dont use Sir Christopher Lee's name to back your hate. He had some things you dont ie decency and integrity and a true love of Tolkien's world. To quote Sir Christopher he said in one of the Fellowship of the rings appendices ...( there are many things in these films that are not in the books and in most cases they are improvements). You see unlike the rabid haters he understood these things are created works based on a great set of books and he knew adapting them to film would result in changes. So many changes that it would take a long time to list them all but people dont punish jacksons trilogy. Hypocrites much lol

You are right. Men and Elves awoke in Rhun, aka Asia. During the Years of the Trees 2/3 of the Elves followed the Vala Orome on the Great March into the North-west of Middle-earth, aka Europe (and to Valinor). But 1/3 of the Elves did _not_ migrate West. They are the Avari Elves. Nobody know what happened to them and where they went. I do not care about ideologies. I prefer an scientific approach to Middle-earth. It's highly unlikely that Men in Middle-earth migrated from Asia to Africa and adapted to the high UV radiation and the Elves did not, because....? Why should we believe that Elves - of all people - where less brave, less adventurous and less willing to explore Middle-earth than Men? The Valar were the Gods of all of Middle-earth, which means Europe, Asia and Africa. The Dwarves were created by the mighty Vala Aule. He created the basins of the oceans, the mountains, all metals and all jewels, but only white Dwarves??? That would be rather silly. Underground skin colour is irrelevant anyway. You do not need a dark skin as a sun protection, but you also do not need a ligth skin colour to absorb more Vitamin D, because....in the mines there is no sunlight. Skin colour becomes not more than an accessory. The modern day mixture of Hobbits is of course nonsense.

Once again, fate brings together those who heed the call.

i'm at least happy that everyone will remember tolkien, but no one will remember these people.

If you're wondering why the scenery looks bland it's because they left New Zealand after season one and decided to do it all with cgi and whatever locations in the UK they could find. Honestly, being a New Zealander I'm glad we have nothing to do with it now. (The Amazon stuff that is)

They did not change their mind. Gavi Singh Chera was never meant to play Sauron. We do not know so far which role he will play. I think he would have been amazing as Sauron.

Because they bought only the LOTR appendix, the 2nd age stuff is mostly in the Silmarillion and that was bought by Embracer Group. Even if Amazon had competent people they cannot use several names and do several storylines because it would be CR infrigement on Embracer, so they have to make up 25% different stories. But this wouldnt have prevented them on making it less cringe with all the affirmative racism in casting. Which basically proves that the writers have absolutely zero talent or knowledge of what they're doing. In fact, wanna make this super woke or whatever? make a sideplot about Haradrim fighting back against Sauron influence, but even this is too much for their brains, ffs.

He is Sauron, not Annatar. Have a closer look at the Eregion scenes and at Celebrimbor. It's Charlie/Sauron _after_ the destruction of Eregion, not before.

The Elves awoke in _Asia_ , not in Europe. Tolkien's Elves are all Asian immigrants :)

Asian Elf? Did I miss something? In his late and final writings, collected in "The Nature of Middle-earth", ed. Carl Hostetter, Tolkien did _not_ include female Dwarves into his list of people who had a beard. Only male Dwarves (Check out chapter: "Beards") The way they handle diversity in the show is very clumsy, but .. somebody had to make the first steps. It's about time that people learn that Middle-earth is not Europe. But I do hope that future adaptations will handle the question of diversity in Middle-earth with more care.

One thing I realize is that they have to give a diverse character that white people like. If they don’t…. The people revolt.

This new season is probably gonna be worse than the first.

On a video of yours with some guests it was said "sauron already revealed himself and his plan to make rings". This shows why attacking it when you have not paid attention makes you out to be stupid. Sauron only revealed himself to galadriel no one else and celebrimbor did not tell him before sauron left he was making rings. So at least before you attack get your facts straight. As for the hate and voting down well nearly everything does nowadays some worse than others. Only people who hate it will downvote many will watch it and wont even follow most youtube channels.
