RIGHT Way to Use SI Belt for Sacroiliac Joint Pain
A SI Belt is an accessory often used for SI Joint pain. To get maximum benefit from it, it needs to be worn in a specific manner, exactly above the SI Joint, directly on the skin.
The SI belt's goal is NOT to restore Left-Right balance of the pelvis, but to squeeze the SI joint, hold it in place and give you pain relief.
In this video, let's see the best practices, optimal usage and right way & time to use a SI Belt.

I am encouraged to hear that it is possible to heal and stabilize the SI joint.
Great information, thanks for taking the time to make this video
It’s cool to see the exact placement of the SI Belt with the different angles of the body!
Thank you!
This was very helpful. I work a manual labour job with lots of bending and big steps (getting in and out of vehicles) multiple times throughout the day. I feel like even with the belt, it will never get better at this job but sitting is also 10x worse.
A physical therapist suggested I try an SI belt. It caused a lot of pain -- and then I noticed the fine print on the package, "not for arthritis sufferers." The compression on the arthritic joint was too much. Folks should be advised of this.

My PT said I should use it with arthritis.
Well said, work with with what you have got.
Уважаемый Доктор, спасибо Вам большое за информацию.
Love your use of the word "retrofit" 😆 I would often teach a course in Retrofitted of Structures - and the belt here falls exactly in that category - retrofit of a hypermobile SI joint!!! Thank you - you'd make a great structural engineer as well😊

I in so much pain from this SI joint pain. I am ordering a belt today. I am seeing Pain Mgmt for second opinion tomorrow as I had SI Joint injection a couple of weeks ago without any relief.

How painful was the injection ?
this is pretty depressing, my only pain is as i get out of bed, then after bad pain for 45 mins i can put up with the pain, then i get peripheral pain i my feet, i find it hard to do the bridge, getting down on the floor is a problem, getting up is worse, and when i have done the first lift on the bridge, when i come back down a shooting pain goes across my back, nightmare.

Yes!!! Sometimes I don’t have pain during/after glutebridge, other times, i do. . There are too many muscles/ligaments/core stabilization nuances that we’re supposed to keep in mind /lead with/or relax that invariably I end up straining something that wasn’t painful prior to the bridge, or existing pain is exacerbated!!!!
Is your CBT align with the Serola method? I have his SI joint belt and read his research on SI issues.
I'm suffering from SI J for 9 months. The bridge used to ease the pain but Recently I've been in severe pain after practicing including the bridge + walking almost every day, until I reached a point where I'm afraid to practice. In addition, now prolonged sitting is impossible for me because of severe pain while sitting. I would highly appreciate your opinion. Thanks

I’m so sorry!!! I am afraid that I won’t heal, as well. I am starting to feel pain in my back as I lower myself back to the starting position! And at first, I had pain on my right side and now I have pain on my left side!! I wish you all the best!

Would you recommend waiting for the inflammation to decrease before starting bridge exercises?
Is the belt good for spondylolisthesis?
Thank you so much for this video! I have a question. If one is very overweight, should the SI joint be placed over the protruding belly or under?
Man, these videos have been so helpful. Been dealing with bad SI joint pain for 10 months now. Question - can PRP or stem cells help with this situation? Seems like what I really need is a month in a body cast, and then PT!

Have you had a cortisone injection or discussed an SI Fusion with your doctor? I’m very interested in PRP and Stem cell options as well. Good luck!

Got a belt two weeks ago. I work at the front desk of an animal hospital. I may get up four times in 20 minutes then sit for an hour straight. It's inconsistent and I can't remove the belt and put it back on constantly up front. I've worn the belt all day but then it feels restricting and my back hurts. Not sure how to manage each stage.
I feel its too late to stabilize mine, after being misdiagnosed for 14 years. Mine Si pops and clicks all the time. Ive started doing stabilizing exercises, im barely a week into them. Working the glutes and core.
it seems the official video of the belt manufacturer „Serola“ places it way lower. any reason for that?

I was wondering the same thing as I have been wearing my SI belt very low as the Serola video suggests.
Any input on glucosamine supplementation for SI joint rehab?

Hi Ritika, thank you for reaching out, and a warm welcome to the program! We're so glad to have you here, and I'm happy to help answer your question. If you have just recently started wearing the SI joint belt, then it may be a good idea to continue wearing it during the first week. Tune into your body during this time to gather more information on the best timing to start weaning off its usage. This way, you can gradually work towards stabilization using the musculature surrounding your SI joint. I hope this is helpful!

@@CoreBalanceIs there a Stage 4? Like exercises that would stabilize without the belt? I get pops rarely throughout the day and had terrible experience with a lumber belt so I can’t get myself to use a belt again 😅
One of the acute symptoms of SI joint problems is pain sitting,, I thought. That’s what I experience, so I’m confused about sitting not bothering the joint. I get that it’s supposed to be stable sitting, so why is pain sitting an SI joint problem symptom?
Have enjoyed the vids on SI, just out of interest, could you please do a video on why intervention such as cortisol injections, pain killers etc dont work and with this pain being quite prolific why has science not tried to help more thus helping people who wouold love and still try to be more proactive in the workforce?! Im currently doing an evening position which fills the shelves of products people want to buy, I have the best part of 15 yrs before retirement and other than finding another job I completely understand others pain. Ive just ordered a belt and supplements but really, what, how or why is nothing been done to repair, help, fix this?

How is the belt kept in place - to keep it from riding up? Or is it that if it's placed correctly it shouldn't ride up?

There is a certain type of non-slip material on the skin side.

We always wonder wether what others think...in my case thinking of other's impression only lead to my suffering...we should prioritize ourselves over others opinions thats what i learned after suffering multiple health issues
Should you wear the belt under clothes? Or can be worn over the clothes?
