ABOUT US:
Welcome to our crazy life. We are a mom and dad that moved our two horse-crazy girls from the city to the country in 2020, right before Covid hit. So much has happened since then. We now live on a hobby farm with horses, goats, chickens, peacocks, guinea fowl, ducks, bunnies, a livestock guardian dog and house dogs that are adjusting to country living. We have undertaken many renovations (both inside and outside), love sharing tips on how to repurpose items or do things on a budget, and are always looking for the next DIY project. HE BROUGHT UP HER LEFT LEAD AND THE DIFFICULTY SHE HAS WITH IT. THATS A GOOD TRAINER/INSTRUCTOR MAKING A SMALL LINE JUMPS TURNING TO THE LEFT AT THE CORNER TO HELP HER TAKE IT AND HE GAVE KATE A GOOD DRILL TO KEEP ASKING FOR THAT LEFT LEAD OVER POLES ON THE GROUND. CANT WAIT FOR HER TO SEE THAT. SO GLAD HE SAID QUIT WITH THAT. EXCELLENT LESSON WELL DONE. Susan

Hi Jen and family. Good job Kate! I want to see more jewelry please. I tell my husband NOT to do anything to the idiot causing the problems. Nope, not these days. To many idiots out there who like to play with guns! Here in N.E Ohio we were in the high 50's now its so cold. 22 degrees right now. Snow on it's way. Good lesson Kate. You guys have a good night. Hugs to you all.

Spurs???? There was no need for spurs in this lesson. Why use more when less gets the job done?

Question? I notice Kate uses a chain over Stevie's nose as an extra precaution. Is that really necessary? I thought that method was used on stallions and hard to handle horses. I appreciate your thoughts! 🤔🙂

Spurs are helpful when a horse is dull to your leg. I use a chain over the nose of horses that aren’t as respectful of listening with just a cotton rope. Some horses realize just how much stronger they are than us. A chain doesn’t have to be cruel, it is mostly passively there until you need it. I love the trainer, he is really giving Kate a great experience.
