No it's NOT the only reason for being offended - they can be offended by lies about them too. If someone called Mike Tyson a wuss he'd have punched them in the face...he's not offended because he's really a wuss, but because it's a lie and they are being disrespectful. I applaud Ricky Gervais for the courage to face down the forces against him and do "politically incorrect" comedy. He's well-established and wealthy enough to take on this fight when many young comedians can't risk it. We're behind you, Ricky, and you are freakin hilarious. Keep it up!

It's not a reason to demand a boycott on a comedian if you don't get his/hers jokes. That's a reason to go and find a comedian who's jokes you get.

I'm a Christian and I don't find jokes that make fun of Jesus funny. I also believe in other people right to tell jokes I don't like. I can laugh at the jokes I find funny and not at the ones I don't find funny.

What I mean by that is Islam says kill those who are not Muslim. The greatest honour in Islam is to die for Allia. Christianity says love those who hate you. Jesus said never said die for me. He said that those who hate me will hate you and even try and kill you. But I will die for you so you don't need to fear death because I have taken you into my house and call you family. Jesus said I have given you life live with and for me. One is about death and the other is about life. I don't want people to die I want them to change their point of view and live. But it's their choice.

The thing about comedy is that it helps us confront difficult truths. These truths can be too difficult to face head on, and the ability to laugh at it helps to make it bearable, and we can then perhaps conjure up the courage to see it for what it is and address appropriately. If you're not going to let comedy do its thing, then you're only going to end up sitting in denial of painful truths that will inevitably catch up to you -- and it may well be too late to laugh at that point.

All I can say to Ricky and Esther(might be wrong) is 😂😂😂👏👏👏👏 done.
