  • @dlweiss

The post-credits scene is a reference to a scene in Die Hard 3 where McClane is forced to stand in an urban black neighborhood wearing a "I Hate n-word" sign - but in the edited-for-TV version, the sign just says "I Hate Everybody" and so the scene seems super dumb and odd.

the npcs had their own backstories, before morty inhabited them, but they were all generic, like the army-guy who fought in a "generic overseas war". its similiar to BPs memory of rick, whose memories before he met BP were "pretty generic and bird-themed", as BP had to fill in the parts of Ricks life, he wasnt there for. Now that i think about it, summer does the same: she hasnt seen Die Hard, but is forced to fill the role of the main character.

I think you're thinking of the president maybe. The woman left behind was the brown girl who believed and followed Rick and pretty much started everyone else believing and the driving force behind the truth. She only turned against him out of nihilsm for not getting a 'i love you'. Years later when she comes to her senses, she gets over herself and leads humanimorty out of the game. Her choosing to stay might be like the soldier who's seen too much and wanted to go out on their own or since she was able to sway everyone else, Rick deliberately left her in the game so that ability to lead and choose is gone. Her being kept alive could be from either Ricks sense of love or his sense of guilt.

The "I hate everybody" sign, is actually what it said on the sign when they were filming it. They edited it later. The reason they did it, is because the press would probably sneak a few photos and if it said what it says in the film, that would have caused quite the stir... They were afraid the movie would just be cancelled.

I think the point of the party of morty that yearns for ricks love being left behind is that without that emotional attachment, there is less opportunity for cannon adventures. Because canon springs from emotion being felt in the smith family. So i think this means were back to classic crazy adventures closer to season 1-3. But he kept that part of him running on the machine so that he can add it to morty when canon episodes do come back around. Like how at the end the arcade worker was like “are we sure someone can find this again in this giant room if they need to come get it?”

i think in regards to what makes up the morty npcs i think its a nature vs nurture thing, like they are all morty if one of the npcs was raised/spawned with every memory and experience morty had it would just be morty, the reason some npcs are different personality wise is because while being the personality or morty they have the memories and experiences of the npc they were cast upon, that why president morty is a little southern and old fashioned cuz his npc was before it got the morty personality overlay. the reason rick needs all of them however is because collectively they are the 100% collective data of morty needed for his brain to function in the real world, thats why rick couldnt just grab one and plot it into morty he needs at least 92% for his brain to not die when they drag him out.

Um, somebody tell that guy he can see how the npcs are without morty. In the original episode the Roy game came from. Also a lot of people are accusing rick of taking something from morty, but I thought it was morty deciding for himself to trust rick. Marta staying behind is not rick doing anything, it's morty choosing.

Yea Aaron was just wrong and made up his own plot lol it was made pretty clear the npcs had established backstories and morty was playing out those stories as written until Rick's "religion" had stated they were all indeed morty, leading to the self destruction.

Peter's Dinklage British accent is distinct, but it's not actually very convincing as a British accent.

It's pretty decent for an American... But yeah. I'm thinking they might be under the impression that Peter Dinklage is British. I don't think they know he's American! 🤣 I'm not totally sure, but they questioned when he'd done an American accent so... 🤔 So his British accent is convincing for Americans then...

I have unsubbed from so many reactors because of this episode and it's refreshing to see people rather they like it or not at least understand what was going on and actually give the episode a fair chance

I have never seen Die Hard. I remember XXX and I think I saw crank for about 20 minutes of Spike TY (remember Spike TV?), but I was at a period where I wasn't interested in R rated action movies and was just young enough to not be able to see them. First and last one I saw was Taken. Seeing all the Die Hard references, it reminds me of what I think the Jason Bourne movies would be like but with more violence. Looked kinda all over the place.

I was thinking about Marta and I had a kinda dark thought. Marta may have been a tiny part of Morty but she was unique for some reason in that she was able to connect with the other Morty's. I think Rick was saying that losing the Morty pieces would affect his mind and he seemed suddenly real on board the Rick train at the end for the Morty we've been following. Also Marta said that she was the only Morty left who still didn't want to join so I feel like she was his distrust of Rick or something. But she also may have held something special in her that is now lost forever, guess we'll never know.

I just had the BEST thought/theory for what they're gonna do with Rick Prime (Evil Rick) and his Backstory... Okay, hear me out... WHAT IF... he pulled a Dark Strange and basically imploded his original reality until he was all that was left, and then a Watcher like character showed him Portal tech and the truth of infinite realities and such. Then he went on to create the finite curve thingy, uniting all Rick's he was able to convince to take the same path as him essentially. Lol, late nights, airtight? 😆
