I think the main biggest problem I have is the fact that Rick's suicide attempt was taken soo seriously and hit so hard for many in the fandom it gave people like me a sense of comfort and relatabillity. But for some unfathomable reason the writing team are trying to have their cake and eat it to when that doesn't work especially with someone like Rick Sanchez or the Smith family. This is such an insanely dark and philosophical episode, from the cannibalism, to the euthanasia, the destruction of the planet through endless consumption, to the suicide.... Then you add in details like how Lawrence, the man whose funeral Morty went to, whose corpse was on the floor in rick's garage, was the husband that Amber divorced for Fred. He was the father of her kids. We see them in the photos, and we see them at his funeral. In other words, after Amber left Lawrence for Fred, his life pretty much fell apart, and he wound up killing himself. Not to mention the "ignorance is bliss" ending with the Saulsbury steak, and morty's throwaway political commentary ("Can't we just give up and join the 50% of the country that's fascist? They get to do more"). Just... holy shit. That warning at the start of the episode wasn't nearly enough. No warning could be. Well done to the production team on taking a "How the sausage is made" concept and throwing everything at it.

To Answer Aaron's mora dilemma question. Humans don't eat humans, even ethically, because we aren't designed for it. If you don't have the proper genetic makeup to eat your own species like snakes do. You can wind up getting certain illnesses are directly correlate to human cannibalisms. And then you have people's ethics. While the ethics can be ambiguous. That fact that there are significant down sides to not eating humans. Humans eat baby cows and pigs and birds, so humans had the capacity to actually eat each other, there no doubt would some kind of slave or cast system that made it so that some portion of the population became food. Hence the clone thing that they went through, similar concept clone or natural born human. Bojack horseman actually touches on this concept in it's world.

It’s insane how only Morty can completely cripple/accidentally wage war on so many different societies. We have the squirrels from the Morty Mindblowers episode, the snake planet, the dimension where he left the wine because time goes faster there but ended up having the entire society against him, the sun cult, and now spaghetti planet. (There are definitely more examples but can’t think of them at the top of my head.)

Much more interesting than just having an episode that is just bizarre and wacky and insane for the sake of being crazy.
