Morty saw Rick's whole backstory at the end of Season 5 when he jabbed himself with the thing. 22:11 There are so many life-long montages in this show like Simple Rick's wafers, Morty and Carey's relationship, and Roy: A Life Lived Well. This season we got Morty and the bullies on the island, Morty turning into Jerry, and Fred's life.
Loved this episode, especially the ending as Rick not only shows affection to Morty (Putting his picture on the wall and going to hug him) but also shows how much he's come to actually trust Morty by not jumping in the fear hole. He may not trust Morty with a lot of things, but I think Rick trusts Morty when it comes to Rick's past since I'm pretty sure nobody but Morty knows about Rick Prime.
This has to be one of my favorite episodes of the season especially because of how this could set up the rest of the series, now that Morty is no longer dependent on Rick.

The gag with Beth shooting him in his very first episode remains one of my favorite bits the show has ever done. I’ll never forget how weird it was to be laughing but also horrified at her pouring the wine frantically at the end. Like, it was a funny thing but also felt indecent and horrifying to watch her private hell explode into being out of nowhere. So he’ll always have a special place in my heart for that, but literally every appearance of his since then has been entirely forgettable, in my opinion.
A nice touch in the animation; Morty mentions he saw Diane down in the hole while he and Rick are leaving the bathroom. If you look, they animated Rick to hesitate for a split second when he heard that.
In season 5 final morty seen entire rick backstory so she could act like that in reality.
You know it crazy Morty says he’s scared Rick wouldn’t jump in a hole after him but in season 2 he he did just that granted the circumstances were different but he still did it
Let’s be honest, we all wish deep down that Lost was one season long and that’s it. And that it had a definitive ending!
This was a 10/10 episode for me. The monologue about love and the inceptions are perfect
To me the hole would be an amazing concept for a horror movie.
Is this my favorite episode of the whole show including seasons 1 and 2? *wakes up in the bottom of the hole* 🕳️
I like how Rick didn’t even take that photo then, he literally has a picture of Morty folded up and carry’s it around with him.
I wasn't looking forward to this season and was ready to drop this show because my enjoyment went in the bin for most of season 4, 5 and 6. @vivimos_en_una_sociedad7758

He created both titular characters in their most primitive state (Doc and marthi, from his old shitty shock value animations) and he used to be the second creative force behind what the show should be besides Harmon until he stepped out of the writers room during production of season 3 because Harmon brought in his team of writers from community to widen their storytelling scope beyond just the two of them and also to include female writers for the first time. For some reason this hurt Roiland's ego or something so ever since he only did the voice work, which you could tell even that he stopped putting in too much effort since season 4. Morty just stopped sounding funny or happy like ever for some reason. Also why the new VAs feel really adequate really fast. Two separare people who were both part of the fanbase so they understand the range of the characters voices but also put in the individual effort to have each character shine since its not just one guy doing them both now. Some slight differences like rick being a tiny bit less raspy and morty being a bit deeper but with more tendencies to screach work because they appeal to that era of the show where the main characters having funny voices was a must for every scene since, you know, Roiland. Morty also works since it kinda sounds like he got a little tiny bit older which at the seventh season is honestly fair.

the fear hole, is like the "anti toxic machine". just like that machine removes the toxic parts of you, based on what you consider to be "toxic", the fear hole gives you a reality, based on what YOU think is real.
Bro we had Wolverine and Sabertooth at the start and finish of the season!
Amazing episode
That guy in the suit reminds me of Rod Serling from The Twilight Zone series
This was one of the cooler episodes I can remember in recent memory, I liked how they executed the idea. The scary stuff when Morty first jumped in was genuinely terrifying, idk if it’s just me but the way those monsters are designed and drawn kinda reminds me of the art from those old “scary stories to tell in the dark” books which if you know you know, had the scariest artwork ever especially if you were a kid reading em. It’s pretty hard to make like genuinely scary designs in a cartoon especially when it’s something like Rick and Morty, but whoever did those really hit it out of the park bc it didn’t clash with the animation style yet it really wasn’t like anything else in the show
In 'Rickmurai Jack' Morty saw all of Rick's memory. That's why I think Diane is portrayed accurately by the fear hole using Morty's memory.
14:43 the sneaker squeak lol
13:15 “Summer marries a… guy” nice save Eric 😂
What like the mists that despite Morty being as cowardice as he is, he jumped in the whole knowing that whatever was in there would be his greatest fear and he conquered it. Rick on the other hand despite knowing what he wants the most being down there, Diane... he knows that he can't face his own fear. Which would most likely be losing her again. Morty's version of rick was able to, but Rick knows himself more than anyone else. He'd willingly be in that hole forever.
This episode was awesome! One of my favorite in the whole show
2:46 "Cleveland" NICE 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Morty made me feel sacred asf for some reason when he realized rick wasn’t in the hole
This is the single best episode of rick and morty ever
This episode really made me wonder how much Morty knows of Diane; how much of this was is his own construct of her, and how much was the hole? Even if the hole played a big part, it still speaks of how vividly it created a version of Diane and her relationship with Rick to make Morty believe it was real. I mean there are fun possibilities, like Morty knowing about her studies on non human sentience and bringing it into the hallucination, but there's also the possibility that his mind just conjured the perfect "Lenore" for Rick, someone that would be truly irreplaceable for him. In that sense, it speaks of how much he knows about Rick. Overall just a great character study, and really the favorite of the season.
I really love this show just finished s7 today and it's episodes like this and the spaghetti episode that really help me with personal growth getting passed dark thoughts I brush off with a smile
This show really gets you in the feelings
Ngl I got teary when Diane and Rick were drinking because I knew she was not real and eventually gonna go but thi episode was insane
I suspected he wasn’t real the moment he jumped in the hole after Morty, however as things went on with Diane I started to think Morty wasn’t real, but then they pulled it back to the original idea.
the irony of that speech in the Denny's was he gave the biggest hint rick wasnt real and it was great
I just noticed. They started the season with Hugh Jackman( Wolverine)and ended the season with liev schreiber (Sabertooth).
This is the best episode of the season; potentially of the whole show
Rick was gonna but hesitated, I think that, he knows that he would never come out if he jumps in. Awesome episode, preaching lessons, live ur life as if you were always in the hole.
i don’t know why but the end of this episode genuinely terrified me
Rick and Morty is like a wavelength. One season reaches the top of the spectrum another hits low bottom and than it goes back up and down and up and down, But as a whole it is all connected and is just as good. s7 def was at the high point of the wave spectrum this time around.

Sin dudas fue un capitulo interesante, nos dieron los que queriamos ver mas sobre rick y diane😮
I got plenty of fears that i feel could magnitude if i went in the hole
The moral is that we are always in that hole.
My opinion on where the "fear hole" pulls "true" from is that it's irrelevant. It's presentation just has to be believable enough to the person in the hole to elicit true reactions and responses, peeling back layers of bravado and cockiness until it got to a fundamental enough fear to satisfy the fear hole.
Morty took on some of ricks memories in another episode thats why dianne was so close to how i assume she is in real life. or what morty took from ricks memories. THats how the rick was probably so accurate as well.
Considering morty got ricks backstory implanted in his brain, hole Rick may as well of been real Rick
Mr, Poopybutthole switched the hands he was using for the knife and fork, compared to the Mr. Poopybutthole he replaced. Amy knows.
It makes total sense that Morty would fear relying on Rick too much. After all, it’s possible that he could be in danger and, instead of saving him, Rick just goes to a different reality and lives on with that Morty. Rick tries to make everyone believe that he doesn’t care about anything, which makes people believe he could abandon or replace them at any moment.
Best episode this season imo
So Rick didn't get to see his wife. He wasn't even in the hole
