Full recipe here: bbc.in/1X4U03I "A rice bowl is a wondrous thing, but often - despite the simplicity of its title - a rather cluttered and complicated one. Here, I have pared it back, to make a gorgeously seasoned rice bowl, with nothing more than a few seeds, herbs and radishes stirred through it, and an avocado to top it. It’s a simple take on an inspiringly expansive idea. So please use this as a starting point only. It’s very much a non-recipe recipe, and every time I make it, I add something different, depending on what’s to hand."

I don't understand why everyone is so bent out of shape lol. It's a completely personal dish that she's just trying to bring into awareness that you can do anything you want to with. This is just personally what she likes :) It's perfectly okay to not like her version, she's eating it lol. She's just trying to make us understand we can do anything we like with a rice bowl :)

An interesting English take on a rice bowl. Still retains a slight Asian twist, but very different from anything I'm personally used to. That's a lot of soy sauce.

There's no rice bowls here in California like the one Nigella is making. It's usually brown or white rice (or no rice and just steamed veg) with either steak, chicken or maybe shrimp and teriyaki sauce on top like Flame Broiler makes them. Or we have El Pollo Loco's bowls with Spanish rice, chicken or shrimp, pico de gallo or mango salsa, corn and shredded lettuce and avocado. And no pepita seeds.
