    Thank you for an excellent series! I have a question about the CTS result. I've used your archive as-is, but am using ADS 2022U1 and Cree V16. The Cree models seem appropriate as your power, gain, efficiency results in the video are similar to what I simulate. But in the CTS result, the non-linear portion (Spec_NonLin_Distortion) has an ear (peak) at the left edge of the signal bandwidth. I've used Tstop=0.1ms, rate 245.76MHz, sig length=10usec. I've tried other signal lengths, not knowing if the signal is fully allocated ( 3276 carriers vs. 1000 in the video) but still get the ear. The only other appropriate dial to turn seems to be Tstop, which when increased to 1ms eliminates the ear. Was this the right thing to do?

    Hi, thanks for the great video. I noticed that you first had ACLR in dB (positive values) when you first ran VTB (15:45). After running DPD (50:45), you showed ACLR in dBc (negative values). Are they pretty much the same except that they are off by a negative sign?

    Thank you for sharing this excellent video. I used level 3 for FCE DPD simulation with 5G NR DL signal. I realized that the simulation time is extremely long. I'm simulating multi-stage PA with die/MCM level EM blocks in my circuit. Do you think EM blocks are the main reason for the slow simulation?

    Hi Josh, Thanks for liking the video and glad to know it was of some help. I am not sure how slow is slow but for a typical DPD analysis it is a 2 step process, one for extraction and 2nd for application and it is typically 15-20 mins after the FCE3 is extracted for 100MHz, Oversampling ratio=4. These are initial comments and I would recommend you to contact Keysight tech support for further help.

    Thank you so much for your instructive videos! At minute 38, you're talking about the signal file that can be used for modulation in the P_1tone source. I was wondering how I can get/create/download such a file? I have never simulated modulation, so any advice would be highly appreciated. Some other questions: In the Fast Envelope Demo, for the P_1Tone source, why you are adding 10dBm to the P_RF_dBm? The value of P_RF_dBm is the value of input power in which the power amplifier is in the linear region (maybe upto1dB compression point)? How do you calculate the sample rate? Thanks.

  • @BhargavaAnurag

    You can refer to ADS documentation which explains the file format and actually its quite simple and you can generate this kind of waveform files very easily using any programing language such as C or Matlab etc, just simply use QPSK waveform to be exported into the file format recommended in the ADS manual and you can read it in just to plot in ADS and then use it as an excitation to your circuit. Another alternative is to use only VTB component in your schematic and export the waveform into a file and use it in P_1Tone source. Hope this helps....

    I will have videos to cover Envelope and Transient later. AM-AM & AM-PM is nothing great if you are doing power sweet HB and you just need to plot gain & output phase vs. input power. AM-AM, AM-PM was also shown in the DPD analysis. Not sure which part/topic went above head for you....😊

    Thank you for your useful videos and excellent explanation. I have a problem that I would like you to help me solve, which is that when running a DPD simulation, the simulation stops suddenly in the second stage (operation=1) at about 25% of the simulation. I tried to repeat the simulation many times and the same problem occurs, and every time a message appears: “The simulation failed unexpectedly” or the ADS program closes. Is it possible to perform a DPD analysis on two separate simulation operations, first putting 0 in operation and then resimlate by putting 1 in operation instead of using parameter_sweep?

  • @BhargavaAnurag

    Yes, you can disable the parameter sweep and configure the variable to 0 or 1 based on your need. The error message indicates convergence problem and I would recommend you to contact your local Keysight tech support team for help.

    Thank you for sharing this excellent video, Could you tell me what's the relationship between the P1Tone's power level and the output spectrum power level? The output Spectrum power level is the original modulated signal's power?

  • @BhargavaAnurag

    @BhargavaAnurag

    Жыл бұрын

    P_1Tone is the input signal level and output spectrum power level is the output of your amplifier or circuit whatever you may be analyzing and it obviously will be more of less depending on what kind of circuit you are designing. However in the output you will need to integrate the power in the required bandwidth to see the actual power level else only average power will be shown as the energy is scattered over the bandwidth of the signal.
