I just like the idea that some wizard gets fed up with the party's shenanigans, says "screw you guys, I'm taking a nap", then casts Deep Breath and goes into a pond for 4 hours.

A little suggestion: even when the future books will drop do only up to the books that are present right now. Then do some video called "Reviewing EVERY PATHFINDER SPELL - Special - Player Core 2" or whatever book you're looking at in that moment.

I love the idea that all spell casters are just super bad at approximating stuff so they need a spell. Even a level 20 wizard will be just okay at it (considering their might). The wizard might be able to spawn a meteor, but is still 20 gold coins off when approximating 180 coins lol.

I noticed that you got the interaction between detect metal and illusions backwards: if you read the text, it says that you cannot detect metal hidden from an illusion of equal rank or higher, but you can always know if an illusory metal object does not actually contain any metal. So in your example, you can always recognize a club that looks like a sword (or at least know it's not made out of metal), but you can't detect a sword disguised as a club if the illusion is strong enough. At least, that's how I'm reading it edit: Btw, cool video, good luck reviewing all spells

One of my player was badly infected by a Yellow Musk Creeper, I described the player looking like he just had a lobotomy and described little flowers starting to creep out of his nose and ears. The Druid of the group grabbed the flower and cast Draw Moisture... I was like... he's cured, that was fucking awesome. Take that Hero Point. Great moment of the game.

Divine Lance had SUCH a big glowup! I'm taking Adapted Cantrip on my next character (Human Wizard) specifically to nab it xP Range went from 30 to 60, it's not alignment-dependant anymore (Pharasmites rejoice!), and Spirit damage has FULL effect on incorporeal targets, AND you can use zap enemies possessing someone without harming the host! 👀

Daze is an underestimated spell IMHO. That's because it has a detail, which make this cantrip(!) unique. It's the only offensive cantrip with a will save. And since attacking the weak spot of an enemy is a strong side of spellcasters, this cantrip with it's will save and the mental damage is a good addition for a team of adventurers. Even if the numbers aren't the best.

the great thing with Approximate is that my Jiangshi-born monk gets the ''Eye for Numbers'' feat, which basically lets him...do this. It's great. Caustic Blast scales "poorly" compared to single-target spells. It's an area spell and if you're hitting 2 or more targets with it at a time, it'll scale just fine. Daze scales poorly only because it has a really strong crit fail result, so they balanced the damage around the condition potential.

Detect Magic is still better implemented here then 5th edition, since that's a Ritual Spell that takes 10 minutes to cast... so its utterly useless in pressing situations and in general drags down the game every time people ask if they should cast it or not.

It's funny that this video opens with Approximate, my absolute least favourite spell in Pathfinder 2e, and a perfect encapsulation of why I hate the magic design in this system. Approximate is a trap option. It is a game-knowledge test intended to make new players use one of their *extremely limited* Cantrips Known on a useless pile of flavour text over something actually useful. This cantrip is an excellent piece of flavour text that does not need to exist as an actual spell, the Paizo cares infinitely more about flavour text than they do an actually cohesive low-level play experience: selling flavour text is, in fact, their business model, even if they're not particularly good at it most of the time.
