Review: HK45 Tactical

Спорт

In this episode, TFBTV's Corey Wardrop takes a look at the HK45 Tactical. A more-managable derivative of the HK USP, the HK45 boasts a 10-round magazine, night sights, standard Picatinny rail, and threaded barrel. We test three types of ammo, discuss some of the available options, and look at some of the small parts after a field strip.

    The original USP 45 was one of the best and nicest shooting 45's ever made, which is pretty funny considering what it is. It was also one of the first easy options for a DA/SA left handed pistol.

    The way I would describe the LEM trigger is where most hammer guns are double/single, the LEM is single/double, and you only get the double if something goes wrong. If everything is going smoothly, you'll get a consistent nearly single action trigger pull every time; the weight of that "single action" is also about 1 lb through the pull and 4-5 lb at the wall. If there's a light strike, then it goes to double and you can pull again.

    Great sidearm I carry the Hk45c tactical daily. it’s a very versatile handgun you can use the 8+1 for a shorter grip or the 10+1 with the elephant foot mag...that coupled with the threaded barrel puts you at a full sized barrel length with a little less bulk up front. Oh yeah and another thing they aren’t tattooed to all hell with the word “TACTICAL” everywhere. Went on a bit of a tangent there.....anyway.....another good video by TFB 👍👍

    i love how he says "keeps it down 10db" like its no biggie...... for context, something that increases in volume by 3db is doubling in its actual loudness. So, 10db reduction..... thats quite a suppression increase with just some water.

    Not to get pedantic but technically it depends upon what your are measuring for decibels. You have loudness which is basically for every increase in 10 dB level, the sound is perceived as twice as LOUD as the single occurrence. Meaning that for every 10 levels, the loudness is ten fold. So if you have a single typewriter that measured a loudness of 50dB, 10 typewriters would by measured at 60dB and 100 typewriters would be measured at 70dB. The other aspect you have is power which is what actually damages your ears. Most sound meters that people use to measure suppressors, measure the pressure wave or power of the sound emitted and not the loudness or tone. Decibel power measurements have a completely different logarithmic scale than that of the "loudness" scale. That power scale is more like for every increase in 2dB, the sound wave has double the power. Read these pages to get a better understanding of how decibels are scaled and measured. Sound pressure explanation: www.epd.gov.hk/epd/noise_education/web/ENG_EPD_HTML/m1/intro_5.html Loudness: www.noisehelp.com/decibel-scale.html

I’ve got I Dots on my G-27( not bad) and three dot tritiums on my.357( I’m old, I like my wheel guns). The Hackathorns are my favorite. If you can’t do it with 10… throw it at em. As an Hk fanatic, you need to try an LEM. In an Hk LEM is the way to go. Their DA/SA triggers aren’t anything to write home about. The Reset on the LEM variant is in the same place as the SA in a SA/DA variant, and the weight can be configured from 4.5-8 lbs depending on preference. Also you should probably double check that price. They had a big price drop around the beginning of the year and it’s now 999$ on their site.

  • @dustang5.O

    @dustang5.O

    Жыл бұрын

    The LEM may be the way to go out of the box, but after Gray Guns takes it in and reworks the internals and drops the reset by 40% then puts a nickel finish on the internals the DA/SA becomes superior. Also, swapping between Sig P226/P229 DA/SA it’s nice to have the same trigger function.

    It’s quite true. Caliber debates are very heated in the Philippine gun community. The military especially is such a firm believer in 45. They call the 9mm “the police caliber” and say you use it if you don’t want to kill. Official sidearm as of last year was the 1911 and only just recently got replaced by the Glock 17. But if you talk to marines and special forces they almost always carry 1911s in 45. They claim it’s more effective in the field.

    TFB TV HK handguns like those are dream guns for me and I'd love to own a couple of them one day. Still, I've always been kind of stumped over how they managed to make the Mk23 nearly the size of a Desert Eagle, yet only cram 12 rounds into it. Even the Para P14-45 had better capacity and was just a slightly thicker 1911. It seems to me like the Mk23 should've held at least as much ammo.

    youre not even remotely right about the LEM trigger system. i have a video about it if you want to learn what it is. and your scale is set to KGs not LBS. theres no way you have a 2.7lbs pull

    Corey, I appreciated your great Shot Show coverage for TFB but you might want to leave gun reviews to some of the other guys. This doesn't really seem to be in your wheelhouse. No offense.

    Sadly his many mispronunciations include... dampening instead of the correct damp-ing... ambidex-treee-us instead of the correct ambidex-truss... polygonn-al instead of the correct poh-lig-un-il... it goes on and on with this guy.

    Not a good review at all. Reviewer did not know basic terms of the firearm. Should have at lease studied the weapon before doing this review.

    I will help showcase your shortcomings in the review. 1. You didn’t research why it has reverse threads 2. Your knowledge of HK pistols is severely lacking making you look ignorant. 3. You have no knowledge of the LEM trigger and why it is superior. 4. You didn’t recognize that the recoil system is taken from a USP compact. 5. You failed to mention it’s main competitor, the FNH .45 tactical, which is cheaper and does a better job at bringing the same features to the trials. 6. Your shooting sucks. 7. The fact the the right side lever falls off is not cool, it’s stupid because it’s something to loose in the field. 8. You didn’t mention how any of the developments that HK made to this pistol spilled over into following designs such as the p30. In short, you have to admit it was a very lackluster review. Amateur at best, comical at worst.
