Replaced guide rod with stainless steel rod. Added Viridian C5L lite/laser combo. All tucked away in a Alien Gear 3.5 IWB Cloak Tuck holster, set up for the Viridian combo 😃 this is my EDC this gun is so dam comfortable & Accurate as hell 😮

    I started with HK VP9 in 2014 and had up to 4 of them before selling all of them. I never warmed up to them compared to expectations and compared to my other striker-fired pistols. I had one P30 V3 and almost everything about it was great except for the trigger and ending up selling that eventually also. Gave HK another chance last year when LTT came out with a variety of P30's. Settled on the LTT HK LEM RDO models and with the exception of the slide release (which is a problem on all my former and current HK's) I'm incredibly satisfied with the P30 now and they (P30 V1 and P30SK V1) are among my best shooting pistols. My last competition I shot the LEM and won against Staccato's and Shadows, and etc (I also own those brands/models).

To each their own, im so trained on 1911 i put all smalls around, carry liberty ammo civil defense in it and just hit the bastard when i draw, rest the thumbs off to the sude using the ol wring the towel method That said im so digging the grayguns lem and light v1 lem my 3LS is getting the regular 30 via lem soon And i had the SK, a usp .40 and uspc .45 but here in utah its the wild west out here man, the . The .40 my friend gave me was stolen lol. I aleays chrcj se The serial numbers and get a drivers license number, ID number signature and printed name as well as mine then a copy for me and then a final copy to go in My I guess we can call it receipt book since UTAH requires no background checks no concealed carry weapon permit nothing I actually have a huge problem with that even though I am in absolutely avid gun owner, pistol collector, having owned pretty much one of everything at some point in terms of major brands anyway, I currently am enjoying a lot of the really amazing clones out there Linda, take away the versa 380 combat plus which is one of the smoothest of elections I’ve ever felt even next to Kent’s like to sing P2 20 carrying cc and shit like that but anyway I am with you getting the HKP 30 V one man to go with My P 30 LS I am installing a gray guns flat trigger on both in the short reset trigger kit on both as well and just gonna have a hell of a fun time doing it super easy install anyway, but in my opinion, the lamb triggers pretty much the king trigger out I am being here and you and UTAH actually I lived less than a half mile away from HK parts not met and at least one person from Langdon tactical is a short drive away, so I really get up my game as I am able to get the money to do so I plan on if I can really turning the HKP 30 SK even though it’s a DASAP pistol my goal is is to try and moderate in this something that would rival that of most match. Great pistols and I’ve always been of the firm mind that the shooter behind the gun is more important than the gun itself. As long as the gun is reliable, but the lamb trigger, which, by the way, really fucking stupid name, considering I never see cops carry these let alone with all them trigger they like to get their souped up Glocks and extra mags in mag dump on the nearest brown person, they see at least that’s what I’ve seen far too often but I will say that limb trigger will turn anyone into at least a halfway decent shooter and a good combat shooter if they practice their draw and keep it up just speaking from experience extensive experience

    Great video and thank you for telling us where you got your threaded barrel. That's much cheaper than going through HK. The pricing for the VP9 was extremely aggressive for the pistol you got. That's why I sold my P30 for a VP9. The trigger is better and almost the same ergos as the P30. The only other carry gun that I like as much as the VP9 is my CZ P01 that the custom shop jazzed up. I mean I agree two point brother hell I got couple 1911s couple blocks couple right as I might actually go out on the limb and say the USP 9 mm experts might be a little bit better in terms of a DISA trigger that is but I think the P 30 V1 gray guns light trigger short reset trigger model, and the flat trigger combination which is a really cheap easy model do considering what you’re getting I I consider it to be the ultimate in carry guns and I die of the P 30 LS and I often carry it just like I have many of my 1911s however, right now since I mostly carry the Bersa 380 combat plus it’s just easier on me and I really don’t need a gun like the HK the type of protection gig that I only do a few times a month with my current health condition. The bursa is plenty and it has an amazing double action trigger and lately I’m trying to get into training people again, so having a limb trigger in to the ASA triggers, I feel like it is a fantastic place to start. I’m really I’m. Really looking at something like the Smith & Wesson 686 5 inch performance center or a key offered 50 DSI has my next pistol after that to just get a revolver to even things out. I’ve always wanted a Ciampa and just love the look and the fact that the Linda lowered for access is just really out of this world. There’s a lot of cool stuff to be done with it. That said, it’s a bit rich for my blood right now hence, like me, diving into the clone market with Sara Faber, saying her son by the way, Gerson and Sara both make some pretty cool 1911s.

    And if you like me and really wanting a 2011 well the EAA garçon 2311 might be the right gun for you if like me you are likely years off from being able to afford a 2011 the 2311 is a 2011 but with a polymer frame and to my understanding highly modifiable that the initial trigger is 7 pounds so it’s it’s no RT viper or you know Aries are static oh but it’s also only about $900-$1000 And then, with some smart trigger work, you can get it to run right alongside those I know because I have a friend who’s done just that and I’m always in the mindset that the shooter matters more than the actual gun itself assuming the gun is reliable

    If you do a grays gun reset, flat trigger, a lighter hammer spring, medium trigger return spring and flat match nickel sear, you have a very very smooth and enjoyable P30L. As for the VP9, if you do the MCarbo trigger upgrade, it might need the P30L.

    Ive got the HK45, P30L, and VP9-OR. For 95% of people the VP9 will be the best H&K for them. Unless you are buying a gun for Duty or service the HK vp9 is a better option. The vp9 is the ideal pistol for the civilian market and the hammer fired guns are more for law enforcement and Military and that's why civilians want them because they all like to say they have whatever the military uses but in reality it's the worst gun for them as civilians because Striker Fired guns are better at shooting accurately and quickly the hammered fire guns are just more robust and durable for combat environments but you give up a lot of the speed and accuracy for that extra reliability. Personally I don't need a hammer fired gun to leave my house because I'm not going to be crawling through the mud or swimming Through Rivers with my gun

    Unfortunately I have to disagree with some of the things said in this video. I myself own some P30’s and have multiple round count suppressed and unsuppressed. It would be best if some of these KZreadrs identify the type of shooter they are which would bring more clarity as supposed to them being vague/ bias while giving advice. There are 3 types of shooters… A plinker, A competition shooter and a combat shooter. I find most of the KZreadrs are Plinker and competition shooters so their opinion limit them in being factual. They will always favor the striker fire pistol because its easier for them to shoot constantly on the range or in repetition of some form of competition. However when it comes to Combat, the whole dynamic is changed. Striker fire pistol are cheap and easy to make by the manufacturer that’s why they cost so much less than a hammer fired gun. The reliability and durability is much greater with round count when it comes to hammer fired guns. When a person says its difficult to get use to a double action or a trigger pull should automatically alert you that they are not fully experience with weaponry. Cause it shouldn’t matter. Now I would say if someone has issues with hand strength or weakness in their fingers then yes a striker fire would be best due to the light trigger pull. However with pros comes con’s so always identify between them to see what suits you best personally and not off what someone else’s feelings are. Most people are buying guns these days for self defense, combat or war. Your weapon choice needs to fit such survival. All other things like competition or plinking should be secondary and more so a hobby choice weapon after you attain your main purpose weapon. My view is based completely on combat, when I train its for combat mode and to me every round count, with precision there is no need to mag dump or rapid fire. Also the safety model allows you to utilize the cocked and locked feature when moments are tense. Think of it like a car you can have limited feature no sun roof, fabric seats standard radio system and standard speakers. Or it can be fully loaded with all features at your disposal to use or not use at your will. If the safety is digging in your thumb then your grip/ the way you grip is very odd. At the end of the day pick a weapon that best suits you and is able to do what you need it to do.

I don’t think people should be buying based off other people’s opinions though. KZreadrs do make something sound better or worse than it might be for you. My solution is to buy both lol. Anyway I prefer hammer fired pistols if I have to use my weapon to protect my wife and myself I would hammered fired pistol I don't know why but I do. Quick question, what is your favorite carrying ammo? HST? It's my favorite.

    The VP9 trigger is anything but excellent. I have the 5.5 inch match pistol and the trigger is a plasticy gritty adequate striker fired unit. Canik, Walthers are head and shoulders above the VP9, eventhough they are all based off of the Wather P99. S&W M&P triggers are better as well as XDMs.

  • @FirearmFreedom

    @FirearmFreedom

    You know it’s interesting that you say that because I’m comparing my standard Vp9 to the match side by side the trigger actually felt much worse on the match… consistently. Not sure why but it seems like the match triggers kinda suck. But regardless I do agree that Walter and canik have better factory triggers out of box.

    Id take the p30L. I just think there r simpler and more affordable firearms out there if i want a striker fired pistol. Its not that that the vp9 is super expensive, its just a lil high for a sttiker fired gun. Kind of a dime a dozen. That bein said i dont disagree wit anything u said in the vid either

    Sir, it isn’t that the P30 has a bad trigger, it’s that you fail to understand the purpose of a 10+ pound double action trigger. You stated in the beginning of the video that you were going to be unbiased, but your bias is pretty clear. Every DA/SA trigger regardless of manufacturer is going to be “horrible“ according to you if you can’t understand that the heavy first pull is designed to act as a safety to help prevent accidental discharges when something other than your finger comes in contact with the trigger when the gun is loaded. Realize that DA/SA is a compromise to retain an extra level of safety while still having the ability to be at the ready ( condition 1) should the need arise to draw and fire in an emergency. Modern striker fired guns were of course designed to be carried like a duty gun, loaded with a round in the chamber, but long ago, manufacturers recognized the number of accidents that civilians have with striker fired guns without a manual safety. That’s why DA/SA guns exist, and just like striker fired guns, training can minimize or eliminate the negative aspects of the trigger system . However, if you feel that DA/SA guns aren’t necessary for safety, remember that even trained people and law enforcement officers still have the occasional accident…. The double action trigger just gives you a buffer and a reduced chance of an accident. And by the way it’s versus not verses.

    Understand the P30 manual safety might be uncomfortable, …. But to say there’s no need for a safety because it’s a single/ double action is pretty irresponsible. If the trigger gets pulled with the hammer back, the gun fires , if the trigger gets pulled with the hammer back with the safety on the gun does not fire. For competitive shooters using hard holsters, etc… I understand not feeling the need for a manual safety. Of course, training is paramount …But for those of us who are out with our families plinking, especially if there are new shooters…having a last level of safety after the target is acquired is just that… another level of safety. A single double action does not replace a safety.
