The Most Powerful Handgun Round Vs Human
In today's video we look at the most powerful production pistol round in the world, the 500 S&W. Typically this round is used for self defense against large animals in the back country but today we'll be trying it on ballistic dummy torsos.

If you think about it. That 4 bore of his gives off 200lbs of felt recoil. If he wasn't as big of a guy and I don't mean that in a bad way, he's just taller than average and built. But anyone less than 200 lbs would have a hard time shooting that. A 3.5 inch 12gauge has 62 lbs. of felt recoil for reference. It's insane to really think about. Even crazier thing is I did some research on how much those 4 bores and ammo go for and I almost died on spot seeing those numbers.

The “dad advice” you guys give has opened my eyes more than any advice from my real dad, my football and wrestling coaches, or my sergeants in the Army. As a father, who works as an x-ray technologist 12+ hour shifts 3-5 days a week, the last episodes hit me hard. “The only people who will remember all your overtime is your kids.” I may have 100% VA compensation and a decent-paying job, but even myself being 29 times, are tough. Yet I realized my kids don’t have me around as often, and with a third on the way, I decided to change that. I may not have real money in the bank or a very popular KZread channel with sponsors making me able to work my hours and afford all the nice guns and things I want, but I at least do what I can for my wife and kids. I know Garand Thumb most likely won't read this, but I want you and the guys to understand your content has helped me to step back and view my life and goals with just the dad's advice alone. Again, thank you guys for all the workand content. And from one vet to another, thank you for your service!

Christ is Coming back for those of us that Belong to Him so much SOONER than any of us Think!!!!!. Christ is at the Door and at any moment will Rapture us outta here before all hell breaks loose, Get Saved Now while there is still time and while Christ may still be found, Accept Christ as Savior and BELIEVE on Him and what He did for YOU at the Cross. He paid our sin debt that we never could do that we could spend eternity with Him in Heaven, if you die in your sins not being saved you will be cast into the lake of fire ( hell ). It’s a place of torment and burning for eternity, It’s not worth it. You are Not too far Gone, Christ is waiting for You with open arms to come Home,if you were to die right now where will you spend eternity at? These one liners are getting so incredible good
John Ross (RIP), author of the absolutely EPIC gun-culture novel "Unintended Consequences", and who has his own limited edition run of S&W 500s (Google it if you dont believe me) was probably the first, and maybe the only, guy to ever consistently carry a 500 concealed. When S&W first released the 500 he had a gunsmith cut down TWO of them to snubby length (2", or maybe 3", I forget), and he carried that matched pair (BOTH of them at the same time!) in a Thunderwear holster. I have personally witnessed this, and held one of them in my own two hands. Later, he developed a handload for the 500 with a *700* gr flat nose solid bullet. I once shot one cylinder of some of his personal, HOT, handloads thru a 6" 500, and darn near broke my wrists (or at least it sure felt that way at the time). His philosophy was "carry the biggest gun that you can shoot effectively, and for him that was the S&W 500. Needless to say, anyone that would have been insane enough to endanger his life would have been obliterated like this ballistic dummy.

Love that final word at the end of the video
the slowmo shots look insane, looks like the slow mo shots from Dredd, the blood almost look cgi with the amazing lighting
Notice how the temporary wound cavity on the first oblique shot was so massive that it vented bone, tissue, and fluid out the entrance wound from the chest shot! 😂. The bullet is proclaiming, “behold the field where I grow my fucks, and see that it is barren!” LOVE it!
It's a huge relief to see that Kentucky commented. Haha. He is literally the king of abnormally large rounds. And im glad that all these guys are friends which makes it way more entertaining.
thanks!
God damn, that execution shot was certainly something.
Those slow-mo shots are absolutely wicked...I have a whole new respect and admiration for this round after seeing this.
I shot a .454 casull. It was incredible! One shot and the recoil went right up my arm to my shoulder. I said I'm done, that's enough for me. I have no problem with .44 Mag or .357 mag and I regularly shoot .45 acp but that thing was brutal!

I have a Taurus in .454, pretty much the only time I put .454 in it is when other people shoot it. I run .45 colt in it if I plan on running more than 5-10 rounds. It goes from fun to "Damn that kinda sucks" pretty fast even with a ported barrel.

I own a .460 XVR with an 8-3/8" barrel and walnut grips. The revolver has so much mass that .45LC has nearly no perceived recoil. Surprisingly the recoil impulse is not terribly different when firing .454 compared to .460 polymer tip from Hornady. Last time I brought it to the range the ammo went from $35 for twenty to $97.65... Thanks inflation.
The weird thing is that 500 S&W was one of the first things I shot and... maybe my grip wasn't great? But the high bore axis on revolvers means it mostly flips rather than punishing you, and it was a pretty heavy gun to begin with so... actually didn't hurt at all. Unlike my friend's XDS in 9mm. Now with a decade of experience shooting I wanna go back and shoot it again and see if it hurts more lol.

To be fair both will have the same result. Like the Chieftain said, if you get hit by a 30 cal or a 50, the difference will be merely academic.
NEVER LOSE CHARLES, he's the perfect amount of morbid and insightful needed for this channel. LOL. Edit: DON'T MAKE ME GO OUT AND BUY A .500SW now. You're making this look super fun.

1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Christ Died for Our sins according to the Scriptures, He was Buried, and Rose Again on the Third Day According to the Scriptures. If the answer is not Heaven then Get Saved Right now before it’s too late. God Bless You all and Do Not Fear or Worry for God is in Full complete Control, Have Peace in Him and knowing he’s about to bring us home at any moment, keep looking up for our redemption draws near.
Garand is looking jacked 💪🏼
it's a hunting cal, as you note and also a fun cal..ofc for an EDC, most ppl will be fine with from .380 to 45acp but..thankfully we have monsters like the .500 S&W to keep things lively. thnx for the cool video! it played out as i pictured it..a decimated dummy in short order, lol. some epic terminal ballistics on display.
Personally I absolutely loved the head shot, the way that ballistic dummies face just exploded was a beautiful sight. Although it was a incredibly disturbing one as a real humans head jumped into its position! As always a excellent piece of work by you three, very much appreciated and enjoyed by myself and i imagine thousands of others. Have a wonderful day fellas🫵🏻👍🏼
