    Nice video dude, just a heads up as you maybe aware of but the early models (up to 2003) had a design flaw with the engine so they drink oil like it's going out of fashion so keep an eye out for that. Other than that they're great little motors, I've had 3 Gen 6's and now drive a Gen 7 190 with a few mods and adore it I maybe wrong but I'm relatively sure it was the 190 that was designed with Yamaha not the 140 as well so not entirely sure about the rear sticker but other than that it looks pretty good :-)

    Well these are pretty bullet proof, but rust underneath is the downside, rear suspension, front suspension, sills. TBH as you say they are cheap enough to buy (around £600 should find you a decent one if you look hard enough) but the insurance is painful, being a 1.8 that's just the way it is mate :( as for going for an older One, don't think it makes any difference to insurance really? it's still a 1.8 so it will suck! not sure about lowering, but can't imagine its' a tough job? that's the beauty of slightly older cars, they are normally very easy to work on ;)

    Well when you consider you can get a sub 100.000 Mile One for around £1000 these days, I'm not sure that's a bargain my friend? bear in mind that your paying £2000 for a near 17 year old Toyota! it's good that it had a new clutch, but seems kinda early at 65.000 Miles? hopefully it has a nice fat folder full or reciepts for work that's been done over those 17 Years, as rust is not a friend of the older Toyota's - if you can, then check out the old MOT's on-line and see what advisories were listed in some of the previous Years, and see if that work was ever actually done. These Japanese sports cars are unique and one of my favorite sports cars. I'm still trying to find one this is a gt in the video. Trying to look for a gts because they are more rare and have 180 hp and lift Yamaha makes good engines I think and I can't afford a new supra. Every one baught the gt because it was cheaper that's why there is so little g ts on the road. These cars style doesn't look 10 years old. It's sad they discontinued these but they should bring them back someday.

    I decided on the Gt because the Gts manual 6 spd rev's above 4k at 70mph, annoying for a long drive, and requires premium gas, but fun for short drive , the Gt 5 spd around 32k rpm and the Gt auto 28k, gt use reg. gas, has more torque at lower rpm, almost as fun to drive.

    Prices vary all across the world for cars of course, here in the UK a 105.000 Miles One would be between £800/£1200 depending on condition and service history. But of course depending on where you are that could increase a lot, although 3600 Euro seems VERY high unless it's the 190bhp version, and is in immaculate condition? and even then I think that's too much

    Thanks for reviewing this car! I'm thinking of buying one and it seems there are a lot of bargains to be had on these with over 100,000 miles. I've heard the engines are super reliable and can go for at least 200,000 with the right maintenance, but I'm struggling to find any information on how often the timing chain / tensioners need to be examined or replaced, do you happen to know about this?

  • @Budget-Cars-And-Bikes

    @Budget-Cars-And-Bikes

    5 жыл бұрын

    Timing chains "should" out last the car, but I would seriously think of having the guides and tensioners checked after 120.000 Miles, the only thing with that is the cost, if you are only spending £1000 on the car, then can you really justify another £400 (approx) for a new cam chain kit? (fitted by garage) it's very obvious when there is an issue though, just be sure to listen out for any odd noises when you see the car, and MAKE SURE IT'S A COLD START as a lot of sellers will warm the engine before you get there to hide any engine noises, because the chains tend to make the most noise when the engine starts from cold :)
