Revell of Germany 1962 VW Type 1 Westfalia Camper Bus -- Final Build-up and Reveal
This is the final episode of the Revell of Germany Volkswagen Type 1 Westfalia camper bus build-up. I do a once over of the finished kit, point out a few whammies and provide you with my opinion on this kit. I also give a sneak peek of my next build.
I followed a tutorial video by @KathyMillatt / @kathymillatt for the wood grain finishes and I'm quite pleased with the outcome -- especially on the roof racks.
I got the kit from Burbank House of Hobbies (www.houseofhobbies.com) super fast shipping and fantastic prices. Give them a visit on line or in person if you find yourself in LA.

It looks so real👍
very cool looking camper build sir very nice
Nice job. Thanks for the review.
Awesome! As a modeler and a VW FREAK I love this! Such a good job with the final assembly, I have been through revells 1/25 1962 VW bus but not camper. I've also built revells 1/25 VW T3 "joker" camper to much delight. Enjoy your day, and keep posting!

Nice work on the Vdub bus, looks good buddy!
It looks really good. Nice job. I like the green floor pan up front. I'm attempting to build this same kit as we speak. I'm stuck on the seat decals. I can't figure out how to apply them. The way they are cut is confusing me big time. Folding the ends over I kinda get but not sure which folds first. Lol, hard to describe. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.

I struggled with the decals and I wish I would have been able to video their application. If memory serves, the decals are shaped kind of like a letter "T" [I can't think of a better way to describe it]. The alignment depends on whether you are decaling the seat bottom or the seat back portion. For the back portion, I put the top of the T (the cross?) along the top of the seat back and draped the bottom of the T on the face of the seat back. I did the seat bottom the opposite way. In either case, I folded over the top part of the T. I can't imagine that is making too much sense! But I hope it points you in at least a bit of a direction.

@@717ScaleMotorSports Thanks John. I took a long break, came back and looked at it again and figured it out. The fold over corners etc. At least I think I did. The one seat bottom closest to the front didn't cover the entire face of the cushion but I think it was supposed to look like that. Thanks for your reply and your videos. I subscribed and liked. So hope you don't mind more questions. Thanks again.
