I always try to build as much as I can before paint job

My son just got me this kit for my birthday, he thinks I have skills. This looks like a nightmare. Mine may come out custom. Lol. Shaved door handles and chrome. That sort of thing. Lowered with tinted windows.

Can you tell me what brand of white paint you used and what pressure/nozzle combination on your airbush? I'm having trouble airbrushing Vallejo Model Air White. Apparently white is a difficult color to airbrush.

Agree that, white is not friendly to airbrush. Some tips: use thinner / if you have use white ink / spray thin layers with 3 vars pressure / I used 0,6mm nozzle

I used a red permanent marker. Same trick as black windows edges 👀 it’s a hack that works pretty well

Any more detailed explanation how to make those whitewalls? They look great.

@@Ken-sl4um that was one tricky part. Painting on rubber was not easy it required two attempts fist painting acrylic but not sticking well, then adding a white masking tape cut in circle and that was the final result. Thanks for asking

You can find it in a hobby shop but shhhh you can also use a candle stick 🕯 it will work the same 😉

The hatches and doors do not really fit together well. There are partially wide gaps (12:50, leading edge of the door upper part) or they protrude (14:30, engine hatch). Either one takes the effort to improve the fit (which will take a lot of time), leave it in the open position (in a diorama), so that it doesn't catch the viewer's eye or simply glue it in position, fill the gaps with putty, sand it down and rescribe with a craft knife. The surface of the body is not really optimal in my view; from some angles of view a pronounced orange skin effect is visible and the surface is not really shiny. Perhaps the spray color was too thick. On the other hand the body of a car is perhaps much easier to spray-paint. Overall the kit is not bad, but Tamiya probably would have done it better...

It's a nice kit, but what a terrible paintjob. I think the main issue is that you're likely using the aqua line of revell paints, which are utter crap. They do not cover, do not stick, and dry up with stains. Always use the enamel paint.
