I love how at 7:37, I looked away for a second and at the boat noise, it sounded like my phone vibrating against my desk so I checked it for a notification to find nothing. Then she asked, "Was that a boat?" and I felt stupid for being tricked by a boat.

Abie was the embodiment of my brother when he was 3. So our family lives near each other, just a few blocks off. When our youngest was three, we had to put him in my aunt's house because no one is there in our house. Everytime we prepare for him coming home from his aunt's. Whenever he arrives, he glances the entire goddamn place as if it was his first time living there, when he was just gone from the house four 16 HOURS.

4:14 I think what happened was that she didn’t trust you at first and was unsure about sniffing you but once you gave her the treat she trusted you enough to now sniff you. She recognized the smell and finally remembered you. I may not have a dog yet, but I know a heck a lot of them and had experience with multiple throughout my life.

If Abie were a human child she would've no doubt been tempted by candy from a white van.

Tbh I genuinely think that the greenies really did help her remember! Smell and taste are (at least in humans) some of the strongest ways we remember. It’s why we can remember the smell of the shampoo we used as little kids and I guarantee if you go to the store and pick up a bottle of some and sniff it you’ll remember an insane amount from when you were young. Either that or Abie was pretending to not recognise you just so she could have a treat. That too 😭

I moved away from home at 18 and lived in other cities until I was 23. I visited home three times a year so my cat saw me sporadically but she treated me like a stranger when I moved back home. It was really bruising my ego since she had been mainly my cat and responsibility. But after a year of hard work, begging and treats I'm her favorite again and she sits on my lap even tho she doesnt usually do this with people. 💪🏻
