Awesome. To prevent rust,and stop existing rust from getting worse on a daily driver,get some Chainsaw oil and spray the underside with it,inject it into the sills,other box sections,doors,wheel arches,wings etc.The chainsaw oil is sticky and stays in place better than ordinary oil,but also penetrates rust and spot welded seams and flanges ,unlike most wax based rust proofing products.Thin it with a little white spirit if needed. Do this every year before the weather turns bad in winter,and you'll never get rust.

WIPERS, Possibly, A (dry Joint on the switch ) = Poor Connection, Try Cleaning the Switch Mechanism on the Column? Check the electic Connections to the wiper motor, Clean & Try again. Possible Cause, = Dirt, age, slight corrosion, Dampness ? Use Electrical Switch Cleaner. On all Terminals & connections . That's the Cheapest & easiest Fix to try 1 st. a can of " Switch Cleaner Spray " . Dirty Connection or Worn Connection if the car has covered 3- 500 k miles ? Think Wear. If Cleaner does not Cure it .

Great Vid. But WHY WHY WHY Take out the 2.3 V6 ? Fantastic Engines. Cortina Man lost the Plot ? 2 things Make a Cortina PERFECT. 1) the Cologne V6 2.3. 2) Power Steering. as Standard. Biggest Let down, = Not having the Capri / Sierra 5 speed Manual. A V6 2.3 is worth 50% more than a 2.0 Pinto. I Would Throw the Pinto in the Bin & Fit a 2.3 V6. & PAS. The Biggest Failure of the Capri was NOT having a 2.3 V6 available in the UK. Mine was a 1982 ' X ' reg. 2.3 Ghia manual, in Venus Gold as per the car in the 1982 Ford all Models Brochure. SUPERB CAR. One of the Best Cars i ever owned & Drove. I Now Have the Next Nearest Quality car, A BMW e34 525i SE manual (1995 'N' reg ) 25 yrs old last month & still mint. ( almost ) Original Unrestored. I Was too Young to Ever Get a Really Nice TRIUMPH 2500 ' S' . They were Before my time. but I had a few rough ones in reasonable con'd . The BMW 5 Series e34, is a Better Car than the e30. Better in Every way. & still the old school build quality. Forget e30's they Carry Mythology & dreams. e34's Are The Real BMW. MY Dream Car :- a Fiesta Mk1, 1.3 Ghia. in Perfect condition AS New. or a Cortina 2.3 V6. / Triumph 2500 'S' ( carb' model & Manual box. ) Hunt Down a Good 2.3 V6 & put the car back to a Cortina. & Restore it to MINT.

ONE OF THE VERY BEST CARS I EVER OWNED AT ANY PRICE !! Even My DAD LOVED the Cologne V6 Cortinas. A Full on JAGUAR Owner. My Dad Ran Fairly New Jags . the V6 Cortina Would be ACE with a Capri 5 Speed Box. The Capri Would be ACE with a 2.3 V6 Cologne engine. A " DAFT & CRAZY MACHINE with a Cologne V6 Granny 2.8. " The Ultimate Cortina Ever Factory built in UK Spec was the 2.3 V6 Ghia. Speed & Handling Was OUT OF THIS WORLD in 1980 to 1990. Yes it Will Make an XR3i LOOK LIKE A FOOL. On Handling & Sharp Bends. A Big Cortina V6 will SHRED an XR3i to dust. on Performance & Road holding. WE OWNED Multiple XR3i's & V6 Cortinas. When Almost NEW. Back in the Early / Mid 1980's I Speak No BULLSHIT. I Have since DOWN GRADED to a FOREIGN CAR, A BMW e34. The Nearest thing to a Triumph 2500 or 2.8 Granada. or ROVER 827 (Honda Version ) I Can't think of a Better Car to Own & Drive.
