Welcome to what is a first for Retro Dailys, a Rat Rod. Yes this thing is indeed Sam's daily driver. He takes this thing to and from work every day, rain or shine, snow or sleet. Sam really enjoys driving his Austrod, almost as much as other people love looking at it.
I met up with Sam after he finished work, hence the fading light, we took his Austrod few laps around town. Shaggy (EP17) also came along, driving the Red Leader while i hung out the window videoing the rat rod.
We found a quiet (Ish) spot on a local industrial estate and set about filming the beauty shots. We started to panic as i fought a foe i have never had to worry about before. THE SUN. We had to get out and film the driving portion of the episode, in my hast i set the GoPros to time-lapse and also forgot to press record on the "thank you" part thanking Sam and Shaggy. Well, if you two are reading this, thanks lads. I had a great time.
Sam is one seriously cool guy who doesn't want to drive the ordinary, he drives what he loves and he seriously loves his Austrod. The car is.... different but turns everyones head and it puts a smile on peoples faces.
