Restoring a 1960's Marples Pin Marking Gauge
In this video i will be showing you how to do a very basic restoration on a '1960's Traditional Pin Marking Gauge'. Like any other restoration i go through the issues i see with the gauge, give it a cleanup, and new coat of finish. I will also run you all through the process of modifying and sharpening the pin of this gauge to make it function much like a wheel cutting gauge.
Hope you enjoy!!

A detailed resto on a simple tool. I like you left it showing its age and didn't sand out all the little wear marks.

I always make a point where possible to maintain the wear and tear to try and keep the history of the tool. After all it took a long time to get those marks.
Nice and shiny. Simple restoration project
