Restoration of a rare soviet Poljot watch - 24K Gold Plating - USSR Poljot 2609H
Ойын-сауық
This time I´m restoring an old russian Poljot watch.
It´s a soviet, gold-plated watch made by the first russian watch factory.
It´s powered by the Poljot 2609H caliber a hand-wind movement with 17 rubis and a shock protection. It beats with 21600 bph and the lift angle of the balance is 51°.
The watch is in bad condition: The gold-plating of the case is damaged, the glass is heavily scratched and the movement is running wild with more then -600seconds/day.
I need to polish off the old gold-plating. After polishing the case, it´s ready for a new gold-plating, i´m using 24 carat gold. The glass will be polished and the movement cleaned. The crown is damaged so i need to replace that one.
After everything is cleaned, polished and re-plated, I can re-assemble the movement with some fresh oil. After that, this watch is in a good beat (+10 seconds per day) again.
I hope you liked this restoration, if so, like, comment and subscribe ;)

@@RedDeadRestoration hate to be a skeptic, but I actually don't believe it. That crystal is heavily crazed -- you can tell because those microfractures 'shine' when viewed at an oblique angle. Those tiny cracks can't be buffed out. I don't think there's anything wrong with replacing the crystal. But this video make sit seem like you didn't. Still amazing work and great editing!
This process is hypnotic! The things you never knew you never knew… Watch repair, fascinating!
Fascinating video, great to see the intricate inner workings of a watch with the added bonus of not having to listen to annoying background music 👍

Beautiful work and great insight into the world of watch repair. I've always wondered how it was done - this was a great peek into that world.
