Satisfying Restoration of a vintage 60´s Kingston mechanical Watch - Poljot 2409 caliber
Ойын-сауық
This time I´m restoring a Kingston watch.
It´s powered by the Poljot 2409 caliber, a hand-wind movement with 17 rubis and a shock protection. It beats with 18000 bph and the lift angle of the balance is 42°.
The watch is in bad condition: The case is full of green patina/rust and the plating is damaged, the glass is heavily scratched and the movement isn´t running at all. The mainspring seems blocked and the time-setting is not working.
The mainspring is unbreakable, thats what the dial says. But unfortunately not un-"bendable"... the mainspring is done and I need to replace that one as well as the sliding-pinion (all teeths are broken off).
I need to clean the case in acetic acid to remove the patina and re-polish it. The glass will be polished and the movement cleaned. The crown is damaged so i need to replace that one.
After everything is cleaned and polished, I can re-assemble the movement with some fresh oil. After that, this watch is in a good beat (+1 second per day) again.
I hope you liked this restoration, if so, like, comment and subscribe ;)

These restorations is a one of the most relaxing and antistress videos!😊
Does anyone else find these videos mesmerizing? Maybe it's my ADD, and my OCD.......the precision of the process, the order of the restoration and above all, the quality of the video editing is beyond remarkable. Every one holds a new promise....everything's going to be okay!
I liked the watch itself. Very stylish and elegant 😍.
Im officially obsessed with this channel
Drinking a coffee, Saturday morning and checking this video, nice way to start the weekend.
Lovely restoration...Sir....Great Apprauch...Thanks very much.✌
Love this channel. Hate people talking all over restorations. I like the natural sounds and anything that needs to be said can be written as a subtitle. Great job!

Your work is MAGIC !
As a mechanic, I am in love with your tools. Also, as a mechanic I know the tools can't do a thing unless in the hands of a master. Outstanding video and workmanship. Thank you for the post.
All the sounds in these videos. I can’t think of anything more soothing.

Once again a splendid video! I have serviced many watches with this movement, during 55 years @ the bench! How gratifying to know that my life long craft is in good hands for the future, at 71 i do not know how many more years i can still carry on! So my best wishes & happy watchmaking. With all good wishes, John Anderson, watchmaker. W/sussex. England.
You and My Mechanics are my favourite two channels!
Kingston watches are so elegant I can't describe what it is but they are my favorite.

Thank you very much I’m a beginner in this hobby and I’m working this mouvement and your video was a life saver! Great work!
Absolutely remarkable.
I have a 1963 Benrus 17 Jewel front loading SS case. The dial is just like this one. I really enjoyed your work. I'm glad I found your channel.
You did an awesome job on this watch! I also like that you don't talk, so relaxing!
Amazing work. Love this channel. Watch almost daily.
I like the classic design of the 60s-70s. The electro-chemical coating of the dial is resistant. And the mechanism is strong and accurate running should be.
Good video, thanks for posting. For some reason very soothing to watch them being taken apart, fixed and cleaned.
Beautiful job!
You are a really distinguished technician👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Great to see how you turn a piece of scrap in a little diamond. The before and after-pics are stunning. 👍👍👍
Incredible....I can't believe how good the crystal came up...this was a total joy to watch..
Such tiny teeth, thanks for the visuals 🙏
