Restoration of a Vintage Omega Seamaster Cosmic Watch - Caliber 752
Ғылым және технология
This time i´am restoring an Omega Seamaster Cosmic.
It´s powered by the famous Omega 752 automatic movement. A nice
and robust in-house-movement, red-golden colored and equipped
with a swan-neck fine adjustment. It beats at 19800bph and
the lift angle of the balance is at 49°.
The referencenumber of this Omega is 166.036 and after some
investigations, i believe it´s from 1967.
The movement works... at least for some seconds after shaking
or winding it up by hand. The crystal has many scratches and the case
has some bumps and marks. The crown is not original and the old
strap is not only ugly but also in a bad condition.
This watch has a monocoque-case, so i need to take out the
movement to the front after removing the crystal. I don´t have the
original Omega "Tool 107", but a common crystal-remover gets
the job done by ease as well.
Even with the dial and hands removed, the movement stops
after a few seconds. I need to disassemble the whole movement,
clean all the parts and re-assemble it with some fresh oil.
Lucky me, the movement is working great again. The amplitude
is at 230° - exactly what it should be and the accuracy
of +3 seconds per day is not bad for a watch more than 50 years old.
The acrylic glass is a genuine Omega. It has the Omega-Logo
engraved on the center. The scratches can be polished away and only
one or two small bumps are left. The case needs to be polished very
carefully, i don´t want to erase the sunburst-finish on the top.
Dial and hands are cleaned up and the watch can be assembled again.
Finally the watch gets an original crown and a new strap
that matches the color of the dial.
I hope you liked this restoration, if so, like, comment and subscribe ;)

7:42 The beat of the music starts at the exact same moment the heartbeat of the watch does. Perfect
Beautiful watch. Band goes well with it.
If that watch could say a thing It would say "thank you very much"
My personal belief is that you are a very talented person and have a strong memory. Just focusing on these very small pieces. It amazes how you can return them to their places without the slightest mistake.
That watch has been well loved throughout its life and shows the wear from it. That movement is stunning - and hidden behind a solid case back.
I have a few 1960s Omega and love them. I knew the movements were beautiful but didn't realise how nicely finished they are up close.

They are really nice finished and also of an outstanding quality. Even after 60 years, they are keeping time well 😉
How is it even possible to remember where each piece goes??? OMG amazing

Every Watch is built kind of similar. This is a very simple watch without much complications. So as a Watchmaker you know what job each part have and you find it's place. It doesn't mater if it is an Omega, ETA, or a Seiko. Sure there are always special parts within eatch movment but when you know the mechanic you find it's place. Its like a car engine. The transmission comes allways after the engine or the brakes are mostly lokated on the Wheels. Even if the Breakpads are different in Form

He might've taken lots of photos of the assembled movement and the disassembly process.
Beautiful looking watch. Wonderful to watch you work on and repair such a fantastic looking watch. Thanks.
I love watching this guy at work. And I must say, that this is the prettiest looking movement I have seen in a long time!
It's therapeutic watching you work and going through the process.
No talk, just metallic sounds etc, this is why your videos are great and in the end some epic music!
Lovely to watch this man at work. The watches are beautiful machines. It’s great that he doesn’t speak. Very Zen.
I’m impressed for the technical clean work without doubts or fails in the procedures, the technician do the ensemble fast & fury and the result is high quality restoration. Beautiful work !!
taking it apart is really impressive but actually making it from raw materials is on a level way way above...total respect to both
Your videos are so relaxing. I “unwind” with them every day. 😬🇺🇸
Another great vid ! Seeing the rebuild of the mechanism as it comes back to life again is amazing to watch. It almost gives the sense that it’s a living thing. Great stuff.
Great to see an Artisan at work, I would love that watch, a beautiful work of art.
I am simply in awe! Helps explain my love for mechanical watches!
I love your videos. I can watch you work for hours on end. You are truly one skilled artisan.
This is not work, this is art!!
Such beautiful movements without a glass back should be illegal :(

Simply mesmerizing to watch! Amazing work! 👍🏻
Excellent job, mein Lieber ! Good thing you replaced the funky blue wristband with something more respectable.
The way each of those screws shine even after all these years. Looks damn good.
The watch movement is beautiful. I can understand the allure of the old Omega Sea Master wrist watches. Just gorgeous. Good work!!
I find it amazing you mastered the movements of so many different types of watches. Bravo.

Love watching watches, but love more fixing it, and you did an amazing job with that piece of jewelry. Bravo! 👏👏👏
What an amazing looking movement , lovely work
Always great to see old beaten watches being given a second life.
what a beautifully complicated movement! I love it!
So you can make a silk purse from a sows ear? Craftmanship with a dash of genius
A wearer of Omega for 30 years, had my Seamaster cosmetically worked on last year, my watchmaker did a great job, I would say you are as good or better, great watchable video.
And again, great work! Perhaps this is the best time channel that I have seen. Please continue your work and please us with new videos.
Very nice result. Loved looking watch.
There are so few with this much talent its to be treasured and enjoyed
Beautiful machinery on this watch. Nice colour inside
Absolutely gorgeous. Well done.
Контент превосходный!!! Качество работ вне конкуренции!!! Пересмотрел весь материал, т.к. интересна тема реставрации, но сам никак не решусь из-за отсутствия наставника
nothing short of exquisite - thank you
Incredible, beautiful work
Its magic to me. So much creativity in one little piece
Very good job!!! And of course very good watch. I didn't see an omega without case back. Thanks!!!

Excellent work! Thank you for sharing!
Even in modern watches there’s something beautiful about the movement. It’s strange that you only realise this when you see one dismantled I’m also amazed how you remember where everything goes. It’s astounding.

I love clockworks, it's amazing the power for the whole mechanism comes from a thin ribbon of coiled metal. It's also amazing how it keeps time with a simple balance wheel and harmonic resonance.

It's not clear he does it all from memory. Probably a mix of memory, experience, detailed notes, manuals and charts or watching his own video of the disassembly.

J ai beaucoup de plaisir à vous regarder faire Vous faites un métier d une grande noblesse, je suis admiratif Merci
I've watched nearly all of your videos. This one REALLY impressed me
These watches are beautiful and it is a wonderful craftsmanship! That said...a 20.00 quartz watch is water proof and keeps better time and if you lose it or scratch it then you don't care. Quartz also gives you the day and date and seconds...moon phase...timer...etc That is what I gave for my Armitron pro sport 3 years ago and it is still going with no battery change and the time is within a minute in 6 months.
Amazing work 🙌🏼🔥
Please keep doing watch restoration project!!
Meravigliosa competenza, impagabile e mirabile!
Beautiful work
I understand the music tries to make the experience more amusing but to me there would rather be none. I’m finding extremely relaxing watching the whole process of restoration without it. Just my opinion, though. You do an amazing job by the way, it’s a shame you don’t have more and more videos. Congratulations.
My favorite channel! So very talented!
I suggest this guy to put their price ranges earlier in the vid. Not that it matters but it helps so when we watch it, we better understand how and why is he so careful and professional in doing his stuff
A life goal of mine to own a Speedmaster, though this is a fine watch indeed! Very nice work. Ty for the video!

Omegas are always a good decision 😉 Especially a Speedmaster
These vintage omegas are just as good as rolex watches of the same era!!!, TBH the movements look even better than the rolex ones👍👍👍
Another fine job. Happy to see that you polished up the original lens rather than replace...too tempting these days just to order up a new one when the original can be brought back. Keep up the great work.

Thanks for another great video. Loving your channel.

Superb watch
I love OMEGA wirst watches, I have an old Seamaster 600 from the 60es, wow always awesome✨👍👏
Stunning.
And her heart beats again...thank you for sharing maestro. Looking at the weekday wheel it must have been sold in a German speaking market like Austria, some parts of Switzerland etc, which are very hard to find here in the U.S.

As a watchmaker, i have to tell that you doing a good job! But just watch out when you will remove the dial from the movement. I see 1:35 that the dial is directly on the metal movement holder. I' am a fan off your video's and will look at them all.

You just had to didn’t you . You could not resist the temptation to blow your own horn . There is always one blowhard .
Thanks so much for this video. I've been looking for a video that shows how to remove the split-stem crown, and how to remove the movement from the front. Not that I would try that at home of course, but just to satisfy my curiosity! Fine job, it came out beautifully!
