Restoration of the Pulp Fiction Gold-Watch | WW1 Military Trench Watch Lancet
Ойын-сауық
This time I´m restoring a World War 1 Military Trench Watch made by Lancet.
The watch become famous as Butch Coolidge (played by Bruce Willis) worn it in the movie "Pulp Fiction".
This watch is powered by the Adolph Michel 220 hand-wind-movement. Dial and hands are painted with radioactive radium to let it glow in the dark.
This watch is in a really bad condition. The gold-case has tarnished and is heavily scratched, one of the case-lugs is broken, the glass and the sub-second hand is missing, the hour- and minute-hand is corroded and the movement doesn´t work.
I need to make a new lug and solder it on the case with some silver-solder.
After sanding and polishing the case, the bezel is ready for a new gold-plating.
I´m removing the radioactive radium of the dial and the hands, after re-bluing the hands i can add some new non-radioactive luminous-color to them.
I need to replace some parts of the movement to make it running again.
After everything is cleaned, polished and re-plated, I can re-assemble the movement with some fresh oil. After that, this watch is in a fantastic beat (+2 seconds per day) again.
I hope you liked this restoration, if so, like, comment and subscribe ;)

You can make the hair line cracks on the dial disappear with some Comet Ultra Bathroom cleaner and some water. Let it sit in a cup for a while or place it on your refrigerator. The low vibrations will losen up the grime in the cracks and you can wash the dirt away
Very impressive, especially considering where that watch has been!

Send my regards to Butch, he is sure to appreciate all the work you did to restore his late father's watch.
Incredible job. From a damaged and bad piece of work. To a beautiful example of the watchmakers art.
My jaw almost dropped when you started playing the JHS Pedals song. Absolute perfection.
I wish I had a coil spring install tool for small engine recoil string starters. I love watching classy vods like this
I read about these metods to restore a watch, but i don t seen until now. Is amazing, i have no words... In my country, i think that no one do this kind of things anymore. Not even the watchmen who work on clock importer maintenance, i mean those who must services new buy watches.
Great job. Ever try putting those porcelain dials in the ultrasound machine for a 30 seconds? It will bounce the dirt right out of the hairline cracks and you won't see them. Give it a shot on a test pocket watch dial and see what I mean.
First time I watched this I didn’t catch the “uncomfortable hunk of metal” line This time I did!!!! Genius!
Absolutely beatiful watch. Magnifique travail. Merci
I love watching this channel. The science he brings makes it so cool to watch! Plus his restoration of what he’s working on comes out fantastic. He’s not your normal watch service channel. Also his tools he uses are so cool to watch and see how they perform to fix the broken or bent parts that are completely non existent to purchase. True craftsman here.
When it comes to restoring watches you Sir are the master hands down.
Great technique for blueing! Love the prep for that homogeneous blueing and super fast oil dip! And the fourth wheel pivot alignment with that amazing tool! Great piece. Thanks for making this video, really enjoyed it. Cheers!

That’s the scariest things I’ve read today.
The dome on that crystal is epic. You have the hands of a surgeon, and the mind of a mechanic. Very well done.
That's a splendid watch. Seeing you bring it back to such a fine state of health is very satisfying.

As a Army Vet this is absolutely breathtaking especially at the end the heart beat !! Awesome video! 👍🏼
I love those trench watches. Happy to see one brought back to it´s former glory.
Every single time I watch a video of yours I am amazed. It’s like watch Michelangelo paint the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. I’m truly blown away by your expertise.
It’s amazing all the steps involved and the variety of tools and knowledge you use. As always very high production values in the video. Thanks for this. I had the same question about jewels as mihai but will check the link you provided.

I think I have the same watch ...or a very similar one... So thanks for the information about the model...and that restoration was astonishing!
Great restoration. In 1969 Pleiku I wore a ten dollar Times on a big wide hippie band ❤
Pineapple socks is the best but😂 seriously another skill level, this is a proper restoration!
Great film, great scene, gorgeous restoration 👍 Hope this one doesn't need to be hidden in that place 😎
The process of making the hands blue was awesome
I like your running gag with the astonishing socks choice.
Such a great movie. It brought me here and the love of watches.
It's amazingly solid my brother 👍👍👍 greetings to arsenio the traditional gold seeker from Indonesia ️🇮🇩🇮🇩⚒️⛏️⚒️🙏🙏🤝❤️🌹☕🔥👈🙋🙏
Bị nghiện bài này từ thời Bảo Thy, ko ngờ lại có ngày được nghe idol mới trong lòng mình Đức Phúc cover lại. Cảm ơn em ĐP vì đã cover lại lắng đọng cảm xúc như vậy
This is one of the coolest watches you’ve done so far!
Excellent story telling!
Always love the sock shot.
Wonderful to watch you work. Stunning result. Thank you
To me as a watch enthusiast but a complete layman with regard to watchmaking this seems like pure magic. Respect!
I can watch this forever I appreciate your editing so much makes the video so much more cinematic and entertaining
Now THAT'S a watch worth going back to get!
The way you work make other mortals look so pathethic. Thats why I love your socks 🤣🤣
Smooth operation and soothing to watch. And also when you go for cleaning the parts I always think they’re huge containers . Then your hands come into frame and brings the perspective back! Meanwhile people in 1910s: I’m radioactive, radioactive!!
There really is nothing better. The machines and equipment he used are all great. and he does it very patiently. I enjoyed watching.
What a pleasure. Funky editing ("pock pock pock pock"). And what a relief to have no commentary - there's so much yackity-yack on you KZread. Thank you.
Now that was a job !!! Loved it !!!!
It's always a pleasure to watch a true craftsman. You're the Norm Abraham's/Ed China of watch restoration. ❤
Wow that really is a birthright to pass on to the next generation , love your videos

I really love watching old broken things get put back together. I subscribe to a few channels but I have to say your your work is on another level.
Great. Always the most exciting moment is when the balancing wheel is installed and the watch starts running. Special thanks for the socks.
What a beautiful historic timepiece; fantastic restoration.
Much respect for the skill and patience needed to to this type of work.
Walken would be proud!
4.20 V, i see what you did there! Awesome restoration!
Love the movie, and what a gorgeous little watch. Very very cool, and especially to have something that old working so well
Oh, and sick skills and eyesight. Help or not, from someone that could paint a fraction of a millimeter down the face of a40k orc for tribal markings, impressive.
That was the best restoration I have seen in my life. Just unbelievable skills from RDR, fantastic video and I want to watch it again to get all the details.
So relaxing to watch the master!
Pineapples in a purple field. Ya gotta love it!
Maybe the biggest and best comeback watch yet. I'd have never imagined you could bring it back that far. Excellent video!
This for me has to be the most fascinating restoration yet (and they’re all very very good)
Love military watches era! Love this Lancet, great job man!!!!!
This is the watch that got me interested in watches. Loved the movie, really loved the watch, and this video is was just absolutely perfect.
Your skill is beyond! I’m blown away…

Wonderful job! Great connection with Pulp Fiction! You are an amazing craftsman!
You only think you've skill until you watch something like this. Truly amazing work
Your tools and the way taht you use it Amazing!
I love your work! Rebirth of history! Thank you
Sensationell! Bis jetzt die beste Restaurierung, die ich gesehen habe.
看過這麼多手錶修復就您的技術跟工具最驚為天人!!受益良多 謝謝
I couldnt' do this hobby, I don't have the personality for it-which makes these videos for me all the more amazing and enjoyable to watch. I consider what you're doing to be more of a "highwire stunt" than a skill, it's a form of mastery of something SUUUUPER hard. Anyway. Well done!
This is the 1st watch restoration I have ...watched. Very interesting 👌
_Translator:_ Beautiful job. It's a pleasure to watch something like this.

I'm only 3 & a half min's in and already forgot how it goes back together. Good thing your filming the disassembly.
