Replace 1994 Honda Accord Rear Brakes (93 94 95 96 97)

Ойын-сауық

Very quick and detailed video on how to replace the rear brakes on the 94 Honda Accord, the 93, 94, 95, 96, 97 I believe all have the same kind of breaks. I also think the Prelude is similar as well.

I’d be willing to bet the piston was NOT lined up with the marking pin on the previous install job. That’s why the top wore out faster and unevenly. That pin wasn’t in the slot. There was more pressure from the pin on the flat surface of the piston. That’s one advantage of pulling the whole caliper as you can line it up easier and slide the whole caliper back on. However it is a pain. lol. Nice work overall.

Dang here in Wisconsin cars rust like crazy, we have to grind/file away where the brake shims sit and apply caliper/brake grease where the pads meet the shims. Usually there’s a “frozen” caliper pin or two also lol

Thanks for the video you can use the pinch weld for the jack stands and maybe use some break cleaner on the rotors before putting everything back together..

Never hang the caliper by the brake line. And you should always lather the back side of each brake pad with some "disc brake quiet" or you might run into a good amount of brake noise down the road.

Ok New to changing breaks on Accord do the breaks need to be bleed

  • @MyLooneyBin

*legal disclaimer: consult a professional*. Because we didn't open any lines, there is no reason to bleed the system. You can use a C clamp to press the pads together. If you don't open the system, no need to bleed it
