Xoand sometimes retail stores have them at the front of the store but their locked. In my case I was working temporarily at one and they had their Ewaste bin in the back in the staff only area. It was full to the brim so I was guessing they were getting ready to sell off the busted devices to MobileMusters. When no one was looking I dug thru the bin and found a bunch of phones including my 7. There’s plenty of other places that have Ewaste bins but idk where

Do I have to replace the whole logic board or can the pins for that one connector be fixed? Also if I have to replace the logic board, will my storage on the phone be lost?

@@myyours_ you can replace the connector but you need first of all the tools and a lot of skill you can go to a level bourd repaire shop but a repaire does cost around 80 € i fink its more worth it to just buy a other iphone se from ebay where you know that everything does work and its not icloud lock if you buy a other iphone se. you can,t get the data back if its stored on the iphone you broke you have to repaire the phone to get the data back . if it is on the icloud account stored you should not have to worry about your data to much .

When working on an iPhone battery, its much easier taking the screen off as you then have one less thing to worry about. Isopropyl alcohol is your best friend when it comes to the pull tabs if they break off. One more thing you could do is maybe remove the charging port to allow you to pull the tabs at a better angle. Other then that, your well lucky finding those phones mostly unlocked.

That would be my main collection that I would put on a shelf with charging docs but after that I would make a collection like Hugh Jeffrey's

The 5S with the screen, which you say has heat damage, looks exactly what my own iPhone SE screen has, just a stronger version. I know a friend how has an iPhone 5 who also has that effect on their screen. So, I think it's just an error with some of the 5-series screens, rather than heat damage.

I picked up an iPhone 6 and 6s+ from a waste site, along with two original ps1 controllers and fake ps3 ds3 pad. The six worked to confirm it's unlocked and functions, then gave touch ic issues. Switching it off fixes it for 3-5 minutes. I plan on reflow that ic. The 6s+,the one I really want is cloud locked. It's been wiped so I'm guessing maybe not stolen but as is seems to be working fine so i wonder why it was there. Yes there's a sim & I hope to contact the previous owner. PS, the iPhone 5 is terrible to work on, the home button latch and super short screen leads are so frustrating. I had to do a similar test to you upon a 5s and it took all my will not to throw the damn thing across the room, G. Ramsey style. When attaching the screen, the first connector is so hard to snap into place, as are the other two. Then there's those 4 screws holding down the metal piece. It took ages to get the tiny screws into place by which point the first connector had popped off! Please tell me the 6 is more easier to work on.

@@JonnyHatSwag I find my stuff from my local recycling center, go on google and search your local area & electronic waste disposal or recycling centre. My local recycling site has very small e-waste section. There are 12 bins around 20ft high, 7ft wide and 40 ft long. The e-waste bins are tiny in comparison, just 4ft high but that makes it easier to look into and pick items. I've got nice items from those bins, ps1's, snes, vcrs and last week a VHS video camera. Go during the start of spring (ppl clear out their junk) and avoid bad weather, rain not only damages items but the environment is very dusty. Ask anything you want, good luck hunting.

If you really want to know how to get old phones and tech try dumpster diving or going out on garbage day and see if there is boxes or stuff; (go in trashcans if you dare but people will get pissed) or sometimes you can find them lying on sidewalks or roads, I found a few phones that way.

The previous owner of the stolen phone just has to log onto Icloud website using their Iphone account details on a pc, all the old photos should be on there, also may have photos of the thief as this has happened before, unless it was never backed up.
